Yeah, I’m hearing the legal battle was a big reason to make a deal. LIV was failing, but had the money to outlast the PGA Tour in court. And although the PGA Tour seemed to have the upper hand they didn’t have the money the Saudis have.

And it’s ironic that one of LIV’s legal arguments was that the PGA Tour was a monopoly. So we’ll see what the DOJ has to say about this proposed merger.

Just like Jay Monahan a year ago Wall Street titan and PGA Tour insider Jimmy Dunne had a different perspective on LIV. And it wasn’t positive.

Jimmy Dunne was key in the negotiations in London. Too much secrecy here. Hoping eventually some transparency takes place and we learn why the 180 by the powers that be at the PGA Tour.

Jury is out on how all this will work. Heard the negotiations have been going on for 7 weeks. Came out now because of fear of leaks. That’s why we have few details.

I hope so ......... cautiously pessimistic. It will make for some interesting pairings if the LIV guys apply for/achieve reinstatement to PGA Tour. Rory and and Brooks? 🤣

I can’t speak for everyone but I definitely miss DJ and Phil. I even miss koepka and cam smith. Hell I remember Varner showing up on quite a few leaderboards. Golf didn’t suck but I definitely found it less interesting to watch. I found myself more invested in majors mainly because I missed having all the strong horses in the race. I wish this went into play tomorrow

I attended a LIV event recently in DC and realized how much I missed those guys on tour. Their following on course was huge.

Eguller I'm sure you realize Exxon owns very few stations nowadays, plus unless you know exactly where and who owns the refinery, this is symbolic at best of a protest. Not logical.

Exxon makes money off their product and the station owners make money in the mark up.

PGA Tour was already knee-deep in money from companies who do major business in Saudi Arabia, anyway. They were just not telling everybody and they and all the fans were just pretending their crap didn't stink.

Now it's just officially out in the open. Nothing much to see here, imo.

And anybody who was truly surprised that money appears to have trumped morals has lived an envious and charmed life.

PGA & John Deere just yesterday signed a new 3 year deal. For tournament & equipment.
