Eguller thanks! I'm thinking it'll be fun. Parts collection has started, full disassembly will start later this week. Depending on work. I might be dog sitting tomorrow as well instead of going to Newbury Park. If that is the case, I'll probably start tearing it apart on Friday. A bit of sanding, priming, painting, reassemble it and off to the course we go!
Thinking about using the main console, where is says Sun Mountain, as a template for a stencil so I can repaint that on the upright sections. Sun mountain on one side, micro cart on the other.
If I do that, I'll probably mix some pearl a little bit heavy and spray that for the color. It should really pop on the white pearlescent.

That looks like the cart was used for 5+ years at a muni for a rental.

Are you tracking how much you spend to be sure you don't surpass the price of a brand new one?! 😆

SVonhof only on initial cost, parts, and paint purchased. Anything already owned and my time are not being tracked. I figure that as long as I'm under $300 total I'm good, while at the same time it is going to be a full custom color. Not something offered by Sun Mountain. I wasn't wanting to strip a new cart down to add the pearlescent. I'm also adding at least one layer of the adhesive Teflon sheet, there may be a few spots I can add a layer on the opposing slide point for extra loss of friction. I'd like to make sure that when opening and closing it that I'm not shredding paint, and metal.

Bravopilot I figure that if it doesn't match the dream, I can always strip the paint and try again. I appreciate the offer, and am now a little curious as to what model cart..

I hear nothing but good things about the Clic Gear carts. Hell if you Walter doesn't want it, I would love to take it off your hands! Shipping would be cheaper coming down to Pinehurst, NC!

And I like the color as-is (don't get on my case for being a fan of blue) and it would get a ton of use here.

SVonhof it's a great cart. Have mine for ~ 12 years. Have replaced the wheels, front wheel pivot and brake cable. The screws stripped on the front pivot and I gottem off with a impact wrench and found the screws at the hardware store. Brake cable was a PITA to route and get the tension right but made it work. Will need to replace hinge pivots at some point as the back wheels are sagging a bit and the hinges are tightened seemingly as much as possible. Leading to some inner tire wear. YT vids on how to do it and clicgear has 15% off parts periodically, I think I'm into the parts ~ $75. Bought the cart new from Modell,s online at 40% off....I think it was ₁₂₅$ shipped. If you only used it a few times a year, I suspect you'd never have to do a thing to it. Best money I ever spent in golf!

Don't get me wrong, I don't "NEED" it as I have one already, but I would love to do a side-by-side run with the one I have now and would gladly pass that one along to anyone else if it were to lose the match.

As it turned out, I was able to stop dog sitting about 9:30 this morning. So I went and hung out with a buddy and started taking my project apart. I scrubbed parts with some 220 sandpaper then hit them with self etching primer, let that dry for 30 minutes like distructions said to. Then I went to town with some semi-gloss white paint, and let that dry for about an hour, and sprayed the white pearlescent on. Pics don't show the true white it is, it is a lot better than yesterday's results.

ode I have a CllcGear cart, too, and I love it. The only thing that annoys me is that the thing that is supposed to hold your water bottle pretty m ch spins almost freely, so it just randomly turns upside down and dumps a nice Yeti onto a cart path.

There is a screw that is supposed to tighten it up, but no matter how tightly I crank that screw, the thing is loose.

If anybody has any ideas about how to make it so it tightens up, I'm all ears.

It will add though, that my current cart does have the Top-Lok system, so that may push me to stay with my current cart since my bag has it as well which is a huge improvement over my previous bag.
So, based on that, it may not make sense for me to even try a ClicGear cart.
