Infidelity ..... WTF !

Just learned from the media that there are these variety besides the traditional cheating.

I always thought infidelity means cheating with another person behind the spouse's back without permission. Physical contact, that is.

Obviously, I was not catching up with time. There are, according to the media, the digital infidelity , the financial infidelity......
I sort of known the financial infidelity somewhat. Known a few guys secretly stashing money behind their wife's back. I guess they did it in a way because their spouse tried to control their wallet. Dumb women believed if they could control their husband's wallet then there would be no "fool around money ". So these men hid the money from their wives. Some have different bank account since both the couple work, so the wife will take care of everything within the walls of the house and the husband will take care of everything outside of the walls, including transportation, vacation......
A very extreme case I had known ( unfortunately ), the guy refinanced their house and took out $300K cash for "investment", promptly declared that he had lost it all in the 2006-2007 economic turmoil. Later on I discovered that he hid the money and got a divorce.
Digital infidelity is beyond my understanding. some "cheat" by having an affair over the internet... How they did it and be able to get joy out of it is totally crazy.

I did tell my wife if a pretty creature walk comes into view, I would look at the beauty. I mean, I could not turn my head the opposite direction intentionally... that would be too odd. The wife does not agree.

I was very cautious, that's why I did not get married until I was 40. I'm glade I waited, because I would not be a good husband and good father had I got married earlier, but that is just me. Others had done well got married right out of school.

Exactly ... The media of the infidelity does not matter one iota.

The intent is all that matters.

And you should know never spend on the golf stuff unless your wife spend even more on shoes and such.

All I know is that if you do something that you can't tell your partner about, 99 times out of 100 you're doing the wrong thing.

Well, Release, I would lose out on that one. I happen to be married to one of the few women who has absolutely no interest in shoes (or buying anything else, for that matter). Now, if I could be married to my SIL who owns 200 pairs of expensive shoes, I would be buying golf crap like crazy!

And thanks, johnnyjava, for leaving that 1% leeway. I'll take it! I have decided that I am that 1 out of 100. Besides, the clubs are already in the mail. 🙂 But now that I think about it, I might have to be the 2 out of 200 since I have two different shipments coming. Sigh.

The rest of you 198 who bought clubs behind your wife's back should be ashamed of yourselves!

I know a guy whose wife tightly controls the money. She put him on a strict allowance. Meanwhile, she spends a lot of money redecorating their house and replacing furniture, etc. Their house always looks very nice, but he has no say in the constant changes and upgrades. She sees no issue since it's THEIR house, not hers. A new putter would be selfish because it's only for HIM. He is needs to hide some money from her. 😊

Still married ? Maybe because she came with a large sum of dowry, or she is the bread winner of the family.
Or maybe she looks like Miss U.S.A......... otherwise it's hard to keep it together for long.

Release They have been married a long time. She might make more money than him but it's probably close. He has a good job. It is just funny that she worries about him spending too much on lunch, while it's obvious some serious funds are being spent on that house.

I remembered once when my kids were young, wife was complaining about my golf expenditure and time away from them. My kids said to my wife " but Mom, Dad's only hobby is golf , why couldn't he go play golf in the morning then we could go out together in the afternoon". My angels .

There is no right or wrong in your example. I would like to discipline myself instead of someone else tightening my wallet for me, or worse, given an allowance. Personally, I will not be in that situation for long , having someone telling me how much I should spend and where to spend it. But every tea cup and a tea pot..... if they are happy.
