On Friday afternoon I had to run some errands that took me near a local golf shop. Of course I stopped in. Checked out the new clubs (Yikes! drivers are like $500 now), and then looked at the used club bin.
There amongst the mostly uninteresting and/or overpriced used clubs was a pristine, almost brand new TaylorMade V-Steel 15-degree 3-wood. Gorgeous club. Price? $19.99. With tax it came out to just over $21, but they didn't make me pay the change.
As luck would have it, the weather was warm the very next day, so I got to try this baby out on the course. Wow! What a sweet stick! Best $21 I ever spent. I think the V-steel is arguably one of the best 3-woods ever made. Very happy to have this baby in the bag.
