I had the spoon 13* and never saw the greatness, but I don't think there is anything out there that is amazingly better than the V Steel it was a bit ahead of its time and still a performer today.

What a timely post. I just put the V-steel 3 & 5 woods back in my bag for 2017. They are one of the best for sure.

One of the things I like to do is hunt for the golden oldies like this and bring them back to life with a clean-up, new shaft and grip and give them a try.

vsteel sets up nice. I remember seeing somewhere that if you have a 3 wood you can hit off the deck...never give it up. The most non-updated club in a PGA tour pro's bag is the 3 wood.

Stenson is proof.

I still have my Ping Tisi TEC 3 wood. I'm going to see how the callaway XR 4 wood is in comparison this year.

I don't have a v steel anymore. I had the 3 wood twice and 5 wood once. They were just OK for me, even after multiple re-shafts. I've always had my best results with Cleveland fairways for some reason.

Have you tried the KZG Q fairway woods ?
It likes a heavier shaft, one of the best I ever used.
