KCee DonM My first set, which came from my FIL, had those Ping woods 1, 3, 5 and a Ginty along with Eye2 BeCu irons and a Tommy Armour putter. I loved the 3w and the Ginty. I think I started playing in 1996 so they were not yet classics lol
DonM KCee 1996 is pretty close to when I switched to metal woods and GI irons. Prior I was playing forged blades and laminated woods.
KCee DonM I had some blades that were my grandfather's for maybe a month, but then my FIL gave me the Ping set as he had a new set of Callaways. Later he wanted the Eye2 iron set back so I bought a set of Top-Flite Tours. The Ping woods stayed for a while though. The first 5 years or so I mainly played an after work league and a few charity scrambles. I didn't know what a club ho was and if I did I wouldn't have thought I would soon become one.
Maugust789 My first real set was a Wood Brothers Kool Kat Driver and Kool Kat irons. I don't remember what the wedges, fairway or putter were. Still have the driver with the headcover.
gllama Maugust789 Too bad. Kinda looking for a set. I had the Wood Bros. Forged Championship Balanced cavity back irons and have regretted selling them. Really nice Endo forged irons.

Really nice Endo forged irons.< And I didn't understand that at the time. I think I went to Mizuno Grads from there and I've been hooked on forged irons ever since. I still regret selling my 1999 Hogan Apex Blades.
Typhoon DonM I got all that same crap and the Eye2 irons in a box. I just sold a bunch and a guy unloads this box of Ping crap me a few months back.
Typhoon DonM This guy will ask me about them at some point… he’s like that. I left the box in the electrical room at indoor golf just to get them out of the way.
sdandrea1 Don, I've got a set of green dot Eye 2+ headed my way. 4-W with ZZ Lite shafts. Can't comment on condition yet. Are you still looking?
