Kirkland Irons
- Edited
Subsonic What shaft exactly, are you wanting to see in them, to make you buy?
I laugh when people say such things. Knowing they have not bought other brand irons that are /will be, same pricing or (most) even cheaper. And Steve has even said we could get heads only from Giga Golf, and they have a very similar iron head.....complete iron at only $62/ea. . So does PXG (similar + brand recognition), and you can even get the specs you want, with shaft choice. There are a few other companies with similar heads that have really good pricing, less than Costco will probably have.
Just sayin'......again.....a lot of hot air about a subject no one will buy.
Subsonic Need to see what shafts they are going to use
They will probably try some kind of "one size fits most" steel offering. Not that there really is such a thing, but PING was hugely successful in the 80s with the ZZ Lite and Callaway had similar success with their Uniflex steel in the 90s. When shaft fitting became a high-tech (over-thought) "science", the masses started shying away from "close enough" shaft selection.

Yeah, but you wouldn't have the "cool" factor that comes with playing well with warehouse clubs! There's a shit to of options that MIGHT be same or cheaper like you mentioned, including Golfworks. We still don't know the price yet and there's something about the Kirkland brand that's intriguing.
The Indi wedges are phenomenal, have had a 52 and 56 in my bag almost 3 years. Nothing stays in my bag long if it doesn’t work well enough to earn a spot. The only Kirkland product I’ve tried is their ball, and it’s way too spinny for me.
They do look great and that bodes well for the irons.
i won't rule out buying a set of the irons. I would need stiff flex and the price will have to be reasonable
Par4QC Here is the rub Geezer. You have obviously never been to Costco. Cause that is the place where you buy shit you don't need or often even know you want. I actually think there is a hallucinogenic drug in the churro dust.
I was literally looking at the Costco Callaway short set and it was 500 hundred and change. Ms. Subsonic is like throw that it in the cart and let's roll. I (a degenerate ho) actually pulled the plug. What kind of Twilight Zone stuff is that?
None of that other shit you mention is in a Costco setting. What happens in Costco, stays in Costco.
Regarding the shafts, something you have heard of KBS steel perhaps Recoils in graphite.
The goo is about feel. The thin face and hollow body make them go farther and higher. That’s a fact. Even at my 70 mph swing speed.
My guess is a 90-105g steel shaft

There are myriad reasons people like me do not go in those places. 800+ credit rating, 100K in CC limits (if any limits), older.... bordering on idiocy (not senility), and they have things no one could possibly ever want, yet need to buy. You are a much younger American, but know this language I type here.

Both of which are my choices also. But I seriously doubt Costco is going to go that route. Their shaft in the wedges are some kind of 'wedge flex' True Temper. Look for similar in the irons when they come out.
I’d buy the fuckers. I’d have to hit someone else’s first to confirm they were a good fit. I wouldn’t buy them because they look cool. I’m still loving my pxgs so I think I’m in no danger of randomly being paired with someone who has them to tempt me. I’ve encountered one person with the Kirkland putter and seen no wedges in the wild.
