I don’t pay much attention to Peter Von Panda’s videos but saw this one today. In it he tries to build or buy drivers to help his elderly parents.

Luc_Van_Daele Why I apply the PapaD protocol, tee it up, and swing away? @Subsonic explains what happened/didn't happen while I enjoy the view. No launch data/info/concern is required.

Now, pilot-wise, we don't use the word "Down", same with "Fire" and just avoid those words in the jet while airborne. Other words are avoided but the list can get long.

Swingweights? Lofts?, AoA?......all matters that clutter minds that are already in diminished capacity. Hit the ball, go find it, hit it again. Have fun, repeat.

I use a pointy stick to poke them with to see if there's still life in them. Doesn't have bluetooth but it works.

I will try and make this brief. Some years back I went to Golfsmith's Harvey Penick Club Fitting School. Lead instructors were Tom Wishon and Brett Lindsay. Awesome school but on to my story. One exercise was we went to the their driving range to test lofts of clubs. We were broken up into groups of 3. We were given identical drivers but they had different lofts. 8 - 10 -12. We were asked to each hit 5 shots with each driver and the other two would watch and confirm which driver worked best for each of us. One older fellow in our group hit the 8* the best. The other two of us (experienced clubmakers/fitters were quite surprised with the results. Not a loft either of us would have fit him into. Brett said pay attention to his swing. He has a reverse weight shift as in fall back and fire thus the lower loft works best for him. This was before launch monitors, etc.

Bottom line is do not get hung up on the loft especially with modern swing analyzers. Try different loft drivers from lowest to the highest that they have before you decide.
