LIV Players and Participation in The Masters Golf Tournament
I'm watching the Masters because it's The MASTERS, dammit!
I am watching because I like the Majors. About the only golf I watch anymore.

Sneaky, your examples seems to be an apple vs orange, protesting government vs protesting private enterprises.
This group refuses to accept the 9/11 reports and other documents that have been made available, Other than the nationality of individuals is the only focal point without evidence to back up their claims. I think the closest they come to getting the Saudi govt linked is one or two individuals on the west coast who aide one or two of the attackers, not clear this was govt approved or these were two individual who believed in the attackers cause.
IMO protesting the LIV players playing at golf courses is too far of a reach to be protesting the govt. Where is this group for the ladies golfers?
I'm watching the masters, its entertainment, its not where I go to get social information, including news. Its to relax and enjoy, admire some level of skills we most likelly will never achieve. Of course there are the occassional bloopers which we can all relate too, and enjoy.

Not really (apples and oranges). In an Autocracy (Russia) or Theocracy (Iran) private enterprise operates at the discretion of the dictatorship. Putin has thrown heads of businesses in jail for trumped up reasons.
The rule of law is what they say it is. Regardless, the bottom line is whether protesting or boycotting government or private enterprise it's a protected right here in the U.S.. Because we're a democracy.
As for whether the Saudi government had a hand in 9-11 we may never know for sure. Bin Laden's family had close ties to the Royal family which is vast in itself.
And Al Qaeda was originally funded by the Saudis to fight the then Soviet Union in Afghanastan. So connection may be subjective.
I know the late Bob Graham (Florida Governor and Senator) had serious questions whether the Saudi government had ties to 9-11. But we'll probably never know for sure.
As for protesting the Masters. I have no problem with anyone protesting just about anything. It shouldn't bother anyone either imo. Again, it's their protected legal right.
And I'll watch the Masters as well. I'll just have my rooting interests. Both for and against.
The Masters is not my favorite Major. Not a fan of the way they operate. But it's a private club, so... Women protesting the Masters several years ago was fine by me.
I remember some saying women were allowed to play Augusta National, if their husbands were members. lol

Sneakylong it's a protected right here in the U.S
Only to a point. Not when gvt. or business is being disrupted, as most often happens in these cases. People forget the meaning of 'peaceful' during those times, and forget 'boundaries'. They are unprotected when it to comes to that point, which is far too often.
And yes, I do realize sometimes the disruptions come from those opposing the protests. Which (opposition) is far more than those doing it, btw. Every time/every protest.
People want to read the Constitution as it was written. The writers' intent is not always as read. Some of it is lacking for modern times, but was fine for the times when written. Things do change.
Par4QC Love when some cities require your protected protest right to have a permit and then isolate where you can have a protected protest. Of The Masters let the women protest about 100 miles away.
Read this in a sarcastic light
Bravopilot That's fine. If it was their property, they did not want 'trespassers'.
This is what gets almost all protestors in trouble....not knowing/realizing/keeping within, the boundaries. Both real, and 'made up/set forth' in any permits. You break the law, you are not protected.
And a good question.....what is the diff between a protest and a demonstration?
Par4QC Intent
Bravopilot Yet demonstrators keep crying...."my right". Not!
