Ok so you realize it's a technique/swing issue I am assuming and at 39 you are young and will be playing til you get to the curmudgeon age that many of us are. That's really what to do. You aren't unlike the majority of rec. golfers who play off their back foot and hit "fat" shots behind the ball or thin shots with irons. It's the most common malady of ALL golfers.
But on equipment, hybrid like irons do make it easier to miss hit the ball and still score. I'd say for sweepers it makes it easier. But with that kind of design you have to get over the optical situation. But any SGI head is going to have this optical ball/SGI head.
