Creepshow (1982) - a great romp down memory lane with Leslie Nielsen, Ed Harris, Tom Atkins, Adrienne Barbeau, Ted Danson, Hal Holbrook, and E.G. Marshall. Stephen King wasn't too bad either. I've probably seen it 2 or 3 times over the years, but it's been awhile. Leslie Nielsen could play evil with the best of them.

Another low budget series from the 80's is Critters.
Fairly well known cast of B actors ( some known then, some known now)
Good for a laugh.

Saw an old Vincent Price movie called The Tingler last night. The movie itself wasn't bad and I really enjoy Vincent Price's persona in the movies. The shrewish women were rather fun to watch. The plot device is preposterous though, and the creature moved about like a large cat toy being pulled on a string 😸. I enjoyed the show more than not, but like most old horror movies there isn't a lot to be scared of.

I never cared for Price's horror movies or any of those Hammer films. Way too much talking and little action. We'd go to the matinee to see them and always be bored.

Yes. That’s the one. I think the Star Trek guys must have modified the idea to create Khan’s Ceti Eels for Star Trek II.

Children of the Corn. Last seen by me in 1984. I remembered it being a pretty effective film then and still do now. Pretty wooden child acting, which actually works since the are basically cult robots. Some very cheesy visual effects that almost make for laughter more than dread. But the real danger represented by the cult leaders of Isaac and Malachai does inspire some believability and tension. Young Linda Hamilton and Peter Horton star as the primary adults in the movie. Neither put forth their best performance, but both made what would have been an intolerable mess into a somewhat compelling story by being capable enough to piece the rest around.

Carnival of Souls (1962). Felt like an extended Twilight Zone episode. A story that was probably innovative and original in it’s day (the year of my birth), but has a premise that has been copied and so I felt as though I’d seen it before, even though this was my first viewing. The twist was ruined by a more modern, and better executed film that is also well known for it’s surprise ending.
