garyt1957 I didn't like The Relic much at all and probably won't remember it for any positive things. Both movies had cover-ups with the one in C.H.U.D. the more sinister, several unlikeable characters to get killed, and likable characters to root for just like many other horror movies. C.H.U.D. was just a better production in my opinion. The monsters, and their origin were kind of 50's sci-fi cheesy, but it worked. Whereas it looked like much expense and attention was given to the creature in The Relic, I felt that everything being dark that there was no visible interaction with the terror the characters were supposed to be facing. C.H.U.D., even though a lot of it was underground or after dark, allowed you to see the actor's facial expressions and get the visual sense of the terror. Both movies are quite noticeably grounded in the time period that they were produced. You could almost say that one was perhaps more realistic with regard to lighting, but forgot that people are supposed to be able to watch it.
