I loved the Universal monster movies as a kid. Never watched Disney or that stuff. Monsters and Superheroes for me.
So I watched the original Wolfman with Lon Chaney Jr the other day. Excellent mood, atmosphere, good acting for the times. A short run time of only an hour so it cuts to the chase quickly. But I was shocked at how wimpy the Wolfman was.

First Chaney gets attacked by Bela Lugosi's werewolf and kills him with his cane. This is actually a decent fight and Chaney gets bit, plus Lon is a pretty big guy so OK I can buy it. But at the end Chaney's father ,little Claude Rains dispatches the Wolfman with the same cane with very little real effort. Some monster. The Wolfman did kill an old skinny gravedigger and a woman earlier, so there's that I guess.
