bigshank After being unimpressed with the gen 5 driver I bought a 0211 10.5 with tensei blue regular flex. I got a chance to play it yesterday. Very impressed. Feel and sound are not impressive I will say. Ball wants to go straight but distance is good. I haven’t got any real numbers but is definitely lower spinning and feels a tad head heavy at address. I can deal with this club.
backinit bigshank Agreed 100%. Way easier to hit straight than anything other driver I've owned. I can deal with that.
AdamMH colej right, the Kinetixx shafts too. I think I'm at the point of too many shafts... like the point where I forgot what's stashed in the closet 😂
AdamMH Alright, alright, clearly Buzzers are hot for Super Concordes, Golfsmith, Integra, and other oddities so I'll go through my box of stuff tonight. Still have a lot of SMT heads too...
Par4QC AdamMH Buzzers are hot for Super Concordes, Golfsmith, Integra, and other oddities Break out the Dynacraft components and you will have people fainting like girls. 😁
Typhoon AdamMH Odd thing to be looking for but… do you have the Accuflex Vizion 50? That’s the 50” LD Vizion. I see them for a good price on Amazon
AdamMH Typhoon no, all I've got in 50" is a Penley Ultron 3X. I see the Vizion in a surprising amount of secondhand clubs though, seems especially popular in Japan...
colej Whatever you think about Parsons and his company, he definitely gives back to what he feels made him successful. https://www.pxg.com/the-range/news/pxg-founder-bob-parsons-celebrates-the-247th-u-s-marine-corps-birthday-veterans-day/
garyt1957 So I got out again with my new 0211 driver but this time with an A flex shaft (thanks CallmeAl) and what a difference. Hit 10 FW's and a couple misses were just off by a foot if that. Also picked up yards over my Wishon. Even got one out to 249, I kept leaning forward trying to get it to register 250 but I'm happy with 249. I also switched settings to the Standard Dot which is standard but more upright. Didn't seem to close the face any but took away the pronounced fade I had when playing it flat and the R flex shaft. I had big reservations but now this driver is a keeper and making the trip to Vegas next week.
DonM garyt1957 Sounds like you're now in A flex territory. Or you need higher torque. I've noticed that higher torque does indeed fight a fade. And lower torque promotes a fade for me. I never quite believed it but this year I've noticed it with my own stuff. I'm pretty close to A flex territory myself. Probably a tweener at this point.
Sneakylong garyt1957 249 is outstanding assuming your swing speed is ~ 90 mph. 90 mph only carries the ball 200 - 210. The rest is roll. Unless you get one up in the jet stream. Lol Also, A flex shafts in general should hit the ball higher and more to the left. Higher torque also helps close the face. This all is a generality assuming you don’t do something in your swing to disrupt this tendency.
garyt1957 DonM I still have R shafts in my irons, my wife plays A flex but they feel too soft to me. R flex in 3 and 5 wood. I think the main change was in adjusting the face to the most upright setting where before I had it in the flat setting to take off loft. A flex just feels like I don't have to work as hard. Oh and I went from a 55 gram shaft to a 40 gram.
DonM I'm continuing to meet guys with PXG in the bag. In any foursome I'm in, it seems more likely than not.
