It’s amazing how I have to work 4 jobs to be able to keep afloat now with the price of everything 🙄. A few years ago I’d have been doing well financially with these 4 jobs.

Gas has been steady at $3.35. I found a $3.29 yesterday. Couple days before that I found a stretch of road near my fitting day in Marshfield where they were having a gas price war amd got me some $3.05 gas!!

Question is....when you stop for that 'cheaper' gas, how many gallons are you getting? Fill up.....8 gal......12 gal.??

Is it worth just a dollar or less to go out of your way for gas? Not me and I am poor. I only go where I find it the cheapest when I am doing a fill up from almost empty. And 99% of the time, I wait til I'm on empty, even if there is a big drop in prices.

Don't know if this is an at large question, or specifically for Typhoon, but I'll impose my answers anyway. Anytime I stop for gas, I fill up the tank, and usually only do it when under a quarter tank at whatever station is handy when getting low. I will make an exception and top off the tank if my travels happen to take me past the station with the lowest local price historically. I never go out of my way for the lowest price, but will always be conscious of any plans that will take me past that station if I think it will happen before I need to get gas. Otherwise, I don't shop around for gas. Just not worth it for me to save a buck or two per tank. I will say there is an exception, a station I pass a few times a week on the way to church that, for some unknown reason, is always about $.40 or $.50 per gallon higher than almost any other station in the area. I would never stop at that station unless I had to push the car to it.

johnnydoom I've seen people waiting in lines, when a 'war' is going on. Prices may be 30 cents cheaper. I'd have to think most of those cars had 1/2 full tanks already, not even close to empty. Yet, they sat there for maybe an hour to save that $3, IF they have a 20 gal. tank. Most cars today do not.

If they'll save $6 on a fill up of 20 gal......they'll wait in line for an hour?

If so, I have a job for them that pays $6/hr.. No waiting, no lines. 😉

I'm getting the drift that Racetrac is the price raiser here. They are trying to get the market up to 3.19 again.

$3.19 here last week. $3.49 earlier this week. Is now $3.59. Ramping up for the holiday?

Par4QC I don’t go out of my way and it’s usually 8 gallons… half a tank. I don’t top off at the 3/4 of a tank mark…. I run it down a bit more before I start paying attention to prices. I’ll use gas buddy to see if I’m going by a cheap place. I drive so much I end up going by cheap places and remember them when I’m at that store again. The $3.05 gas was a treat… just driving by and saw it.

It’s funny, it’s really not a big savings… it’s the thrill of the chase. Like you changing drivers and irons every round😁

Went from $3.69 to Fo' Dolla' today!!

        Also went to grocery store.

Gas is a huge bargain this week, by comparison!!! Drink up!

It keeps bouncing around here. They seem to be trying to get it up to 3.29. Still not sure if QT or Racetrac is the driving force upwards. But the little guys don't react and then the prices start dropping back.

        2 months later

Damn our gas prices have gone UP about $.25-.30 in the last couple of weeks.
I paid $3.59 just the other day for the cheap stuff!🤬

          darpar Up .20 here @ $3.89 yesterday.

Read an article a couple days ago that stated increases will be the norm. The heat is the blame.
          This time. 😉

Par4QC The heat is the blame.

Saw that too, must be the evaporation factor! 😉

Well if official, I’m a curse. As soon as I buy a truck that doesn’t get good mileage the prices get on the rise

Typhoon You sound like my brother. As soon as gas prices go high he parks his pickup and borrows my parents Prius lol. Most don't need an SUV or pickup, but still want to moan about gas prices.
