Watching replay of Champions Tour this a.m. and they are showing Trackman on drives. Olin Browne -238 carry and Gene Sauer -246 carry. ...did not show total distance....but right around where I carry it on a good strike.....also Olin's drive hade 1 foot of curve 🙂

I had seen total driving yardage at the local events with maybe between 250-280 total yardage. with several long drivers at 270-290 range. They can shape their shots pretty consistently.

The major difference is most of them have a game between 170 -210. Most the amateurs don't have any "game" over 170. Their short game is so good from all the past experience, it's like playing video game.

Some of the guys on the Champions Tour still play on the PGA Tour where they had success when younger. If they played against the PGA Tour guys and could tee it up at 6800-7000 many of them could beat the PGA guys if they play at 7250 or more. They are shorter than when playing on the PGA Tour, but they still have that great short game. Plus most of them are razor sharp inside 120 yards.

Typhoon Don't get LB yellin at me!

He will yell at anyone he likes to. But he will also forget and forgive in a hurry...... 😄

They strike it so well, still... most of them. They're long enough to shoot some low scores on 6800ish yard layouts. Putting is another story. Langer is a walking ATM machine with that broomstick, not many really good putters on the senior tour these days. Those that are win some good retirement money.
