Par4QC Some earlier coronaviruses can provide immunity. I had a bad summer cold in probably 2018 that was probably a type of coronavirus. Maybe that's helped me.

My guess is that the"novids" have good immune systems combined with a bit of luck. I believe we're exposed to coronavirus' very often but our immune system keeps us protected most of the time. I know for me, if I've had a long stretch of poor sleep, this is when I might get sick with a cold as my immune system gets weakened during this time. Maybe it's coincidental, who knows but it doesn't feel like it is.

I think novids have been fortunate to have their immune systems functioning optimally at the times of their exposure to covid. It's also possible that these novids got covid early on with no symptoms and then developed some natural immunity, so a person could have natural immunity, good immune system and vaccine antibodies(if applicable), all functioning well at the time of exposure. Maybe it's this simple, maybe not.

Ended up not playing golf yesterday. One of the guys wasn’t comfortable. So I’ll get tested Thursday and if I still test negative with no symptoms I should be able to play golf on Friday.

Not sure I'd call myself a novid, because I don't know if I've actually had this thing. I've been 'lucky??' in life with rare instances of illness. Don't remember my dad ever being sick, and my mom, much the same way, except for the cancer 2 times. I seriously do not take care of myself, never did, by 'standards' anyway. Maybe that farm life and all that wild game & food cooked in lard/bacon grease does a body good. 😅

Early infection would no longer be providing immunity, as natural immunity also wanes and variants can escape it.

Lol, it's not everyday we agree. Regardless, it's clear to me that our own natural immune system is likely our greatest protector as both natural and vaccine induced immunity will wane over time, so anything we can do to help this is recommended- good sleep, eat well, decrease stress etc.

Alert the media- should i contact Tucker Carlson??😜

I'm sure there's a genetic component and in my opinion, getting good sleep and having minimal stress in life are the best ways to keep your immune system strong. I think diet and supplements can help but that's probably the least important compared to other things. My dad is a "novid" too and like you, he doesn't take care of himself in the traditional sense but he does play tennis as often as he can. He drinks lots of beer and wine and gets a lot of vitamin d from the sun- maybe that's the answer!

We just got back from testing and I’m still negative with no symptoms. Wife tested negative as well with some slight lingering symptoms.

The Paxlovid did it’s job evidently. And I’m a Novid for now.😎

I’ve had 3 tests (2 rapid and 1 PCR) over 5 days. The rapid is 86% and the PCR test is 96% reliable. Playing golf tomorrow for sure.👍

Not following. They tell you that the Rapid test is 86% and the PCR is 96%. You can only get one test per day. The Rapid test results they text you in about 20 minutes. The PCR test results take anywhere from 24 to 72 hours.
