Sneakylong Yep seen that swing. Not for me but whatever works for you keep it. Venetos left side dominant made my iron shots great impact and not more "fat" shots anytime I am more right side dominant then iron game goes awry. Plus as a senior with diminishing distance a draw if the preferred ball flight. I don't want to scrub off distance with a fade. I am already short enough. 😉

All the guys Christo mentions in that video he is talking about their prime not decrepit seniors. Even Trevino went to a draw as he got older. 😄

I haven't tried it except on my mat inside my house yesterday. I've always had a slightly outside takeaway and my shaft doesn't shallow on the downswing. It actually slightly steepens. So I'll give an inside takeaway a shot tomorrow. Maybe with the inside takeaway my natural steepening on the downswing will be less. Always willing to try something new. I hit a draw with my driver, woods and hybrids. Irons no. Maybe because the other clubs are draw bias. 😏

Sneakylong What I like about Venetos is the over thinking stops as it's all about 70% on left side, stillness, NO thinking about hands and arms, closed shoulders at impact and good tight draws. IMO what I see in fitting is way to much over thinking and club manipulation, thinking about this body part needs to be there yadda yadda....once a golfer stops that things just take over and you can play golf not golf swing.

Typhoon Ya know… It would be fun for you to do an hour just to try different things. You could get a baseline off your driver and then just try things like moving ball position, more shoulder tilt and look at how it affects your numbers. You don’t have to change anything when your done but it would be a cool learning thing for you.

What do I do with what I learn? I don't care about my numbers. I just enjoy the game of golf. No interest in anything other than what the dirt tells me. No offense. I'm not putting Trackman down. It's just not for me. It's like coffee. I don't partake but I'll fix you a pot if you're at my house. 😉

sdandrea1 It just seems to me that you have more of an interest than you lead yourself to think. You like to tinker with clubbuilding, you like to change clubs every 2 days so you’re interested in what makes you better. You know enough to try lighter weights…Your not wasting you time and money on old crap. You enjoy the game of golf. It just seems natural that a guy like you would love to know “why” as well. You don’t need to DO anything with the knowledge, it just seems to me someone so in love with the game would want to know.

I've found whatever radar device they use at Edwin Watts to be pretty accurate. Recently after our round one of the guys wanted to get a Ping G425 SFT 3 wood. He hit it in the simulator and his solid hits were between 170 and 175. That's probably about right given his swing speed.

Sneakylong. That guy he's working with in the blue has about the ugliest swing I've seen. I actually thought that was going to be his " before " swing that Christo was going to fix. Hard to believe he was hitting it as good as they made it out.

Yeah, his follow thru with his driver was something else. But golf is a game where the ends justify the means and sometimes an ugly swing can have the best results. And the results are all that matters.

Lee Comeaux has been kind of a golf whisperer. I've always found him to be somewhat incoherent. But even he is now advocating an OTT / inward takeaway / outward loop type swing. Seems to be nothing new in golf, just rediscoveries.

I'll use the system at my fitters every so often, but generally in the winter. It's $70 for an hour, but he usually charges me half that. It's fun, but I usually get more out of a half hour lesson with him. He can usually "fix" me in about 10 minutes, but then I don't swing a club for a week or 2 and then I need to be fixed again. With me it's sort of like letting an old car sit too long....things stop working 😟

KCee Good that he only charges you half. You use Trackman more to tune your ballflight, not recontruct you swing.

Typhoon I will mainly use it at times to try a new club and see how it compares to another. I prefer hitting outdoors, but indoors I can use my own ball and see if the new club does what I expect/hope.

I like the fitter as an instructor too. He can usually watch me hit some balls and find the problem(s) quickly. He also knows I don't have a lot of time for the range and gives me simple drills I can use. He only gets really excited if I ask for a putting lesson lol. He says those are his favorite lessons to give.

I used to work near a PGA Tour Superstore, and it had two Trackman bays and 4 bays with some other LM. $99 players club membership got you 30 minutes per day on one for a year.

I scanned thru the GolfWRX post and watched the Be Better Golf match between Brendon and Cristo that he linked. Both those guys are amateur golfers who love golf and I have no problem with either of them.

Cristo was a 14 capper and went on a journey to copy a Hogan type swing. Got down to a 2 handicap. While I’d never pay any YouTuber, I do enjoy many of the videos they and others put up for free. Sounds like the GolfWRX poster is a little too critical.

He doesn’t claim to be a Pro and in his match with Be Better Golf neither played that well that day. So what? Seen worse shots with Touring Pros on a Thursday and Friday who didn’t make the cut.

Any amateur willing to to show their swings and share any opinions / knowledge is fine by me. You never know where the next epiphany will come from.😉

Sneakylong Where that poster seems to have the biggest problem is Christo monetizing Hogan's name without authorization. I don't think he's doing anything actually illegal though.
Personally, I prefer watching those amateur youtube golf videos better than the pros (except for the majors). There's a couple Canadian guys, one's an ex NHL player who play other celebrities in matches. I like those. I'd like to see a tournament ( preferably match play ) od all the youtube instructors. Malaska, Monte, Corgorno, Gankas, etc.
