What would you pay to use Trackman?

So all know what they cost new. Cost of a Trackman 4 Launch Monitor for indoors use $19k for outdoors use $25k.

$40 an hour. We have a place that rents out time 6 days a week. Not sure if you can get a membership.

I pay ~$225 for indoor sim, which is a POS, not sure what tech is used for ball flight #'s, but it has e6 software for the courses graphics. Keeps the swing lubed up in the off-season Dec - Jan - Feb - Mar. I would expect a membership to be pricey for something like that like the equivalent to what one would pay to have a membership at a local course that was nice, maybe even a little more!

I think this a pretty sweet deal, here in St.George we have an indoor facility with 3 hitting bays.
Each bay has it's own Trackman and one bay has a GEARS set up too.
By using a FOB (to enter the place) you can reserve a bay anytime day or night to practice.
Normally the price is $200 a month, but currently they have a special at $125...cancel at anytime.

darpar that is a sweet deal. Love that concept too, being able to use it at all hours!

darpar I would definitely pay the $125 a month in the winter. Once a week is only $30 a time and I'd likely go more than that. Probably not $200.

Not much. I bought a new Mevo+ last October or November and haven't even used that yet.

Do any of you that have posted know how to use a Trackman 4? I am guessing no. So data is going to be skewed at best. Are you going to use outdoors with your own ball that you play with and retrieve them? Indoors that data is crap IMO. Bells and whistles.

What the guys on indoors YT videos using Trackman then go outdoors and can't even hit the dispersion line.

This guy is a good player everything pulled off line and one pushed but indoors looks good. Hmmmm. How many times have we seen this stuff. I can't count on all the fingers and toes. 😄

Could be or if you are a player that brings it inside and keeps it inside on the same plane with a stronger grip you'll hit tight draws,
The point I was making indoors on Trackman he didn't have shots that were pulled all that much most of them weren't that far off the center line. Outdoors in real golf his shots were mainly left with one push and not by a few yards but by a lot. The difference between indoors and outdoors are night and day. There's golf and then there is indoor swinging of a club.

The actual Trackman booths/sims work great. The other way, Using the Trackman unit, switching it from outdoor to indoor on the unit leaves a bit to be desired.

I play with two guys regularly who both hit draws, and they tend to aim WAY right, so far right that the only way to keep it on the hole is to come OTT with a closed face. On the sim they line up normally. It's so interesting! I wonder if picking an intermediate target, about as far away as the screen would be but on the course, might help🤔

Steer them towards Jim Venetos and in his videos it becomes very evident on how to use the left side of your body, alignment, grip and club face. I use Jim's basic teachings and because I am a 73 yr old senior draw ball flight has effected distance for me greatly. I do not hit OTT with Venetos it's impossible with closed shoulders at impact.

You could get a baseline off your driver and then just try things like moving ball position, more shoulder tilt and look at how it affects your numbers. You don’t have to change anything when your done but it would be a cool learning thing for you.

What do I do with what I learn? I don't care about my numbers. I just enjoy the game of golf. No interest in anything other than what the dirt tells me. No offense. I'm not putting Trackman down. It's just not for me. It's like coffee. I don't partake but I'll fix you a pot if you're at my house. 😉

This guy is advocating an OTT swing. Using his definition Sam Snead is a good example of OTT and many great golfers do have a hand path that was over their back swing hand path. Bobby Jones, George Knudson, Tom Watson, Bernard Langer, Ray Floyd to name a few.

I think many think of OTT as having the downswing shaft plane being well over the backswing shaft plane and a steep outside in path. If you use hand plane then many golfers are over the top. He advocates an inside takeaway as well.

Sneakylong Yep seen that swing. Not for me but whatever works for you keep it. Venetos left side dominant made my iron shots great impact and not more "fat" shots anytime I am more right side dominant then iron game goes awry. Plus as a senior with diminishing distance a draw if the preferred ball flight. I don't want to scrub off distance with a fade. I am already short enough. 😉

All the guys Christo mentions in that video he is talking about their prime not decrepit seniors. Even Trevino went to a draw as he got older. 😄

Sneakylong. That guy he's working with in the blue has about the ugliest swing I've seen. I actually thought that was going to be his " before " swing that Christo was going to fix. Hard to believe he was hitting it as good as they made it out.
