The G iron is a "modern" version of the G30 with welded on hot faces, thinner topline, stronger lofts and fucking ugly ferrules. They make that weird click and don't feel as solid as the older G series. The G is a very good performer by the way, but not as pretty in looks or feel of the G25/30 imho.
Ping 200 i ???
Oh God....those look waaay to nice. Looks like a cross between the s 55 and the i25.
I love my Ie-1's....but it's the shaft right? I like mine better now with the heads tumbled so the finish is more s55-like but damn.... If the face looks like an s55 and it has the playability of the ie1...and 431 stainless... my mind will be in turmoil.
I like the finish, assumimg they are the follow up to the ie1. What they look like at address?
Loving the G's. I also loved the G30's too, which is why I still have 'em.
Aside from the looks and maybe a few additional yards with the G's, there's not a whole lotta difference between the two imo.
That's the downside for PING, I guess. You could go back a dozen years to the G5 series back in '05, which were great irons for me, and there's not a tremendous difference in performance. They don't reinvent the wheel because they've never needed to.
But of course - we're talking more game-improvement versus player's clubs. I'm sure there's been some additional performance to go along with the cosmetics in their i-series models since then.
IMO ping g series ranks up there as one of the best of all time....Gotta be the longest running series...
Now Taylormade M2 Tour irons 4-AW is $599, from full retail of $999. I wonder if M3 are coming out soon.
M2 tour irons are sweet.
Not as sweet as them i200's tho.
G25 still in the bag but I'm due...............
I'm liking the performance of the Callaway XR Steelheads but ....... I love those pings! What to do? What to do?

Looks like Ping is joining the faster cycle game for the golf equipment race.
The leader is trying to bail out after ruining everyone's pace.
BTW one of my friend is finally ready to part with his G10, think it was red dot, don;t have all the detail yet, he is in California vacationing in the rain, well, I guess it;s better than freezing rain up here.
I was never a Ping fan. I always agreed that they were good performing clubs. I just couldn't get over the looks of them. They didn't look finished yet. My playing partner in league disagrees though, he still plays his Ping Zings. I just never thought Ping would stoop to knockoff's... (Sorry Steve).
