Well... consider it a moment of weakness, or maybe more poignantly a moment of clarity. Just ordered the Diamond Dallas Page Yoga program, which will work in tandem with the current Weight Watchers membership.

Looking forward to gaining some flexibility, cutting some weight, and getting back into those 36-size jeans I've not worn in several years now. 🙂

30 minutes per day, which isn't asking too much.

Good luck! Let us know how it works for you. I think just about everyone could use a little yoga in their day.

I have the DDP pushups I've been working on.

PA-PLAYA those 36-size jeans I've not worn in several years now.

I remember the days of 36's myself. Probably surprises the guys on here that have met me, that I could ever have been that size. Playing weight was always around 220-225! (got as high as 240 for a bit) Now a wimpish 162+/-.

Did WW back in the old days(early 70's) and did lose 30 lbs. in about 6 weeks, so it works if you work with it. Can't just sit around on your ass and expect to lose. Men will lose quickly if they are exercising or working daily.

Keep us posted weekly, so we can get on your ass and keep you going!!😉

I'm hoping to see some improvements so that sometime soon I can once again do more than a handful of pushups. I guess that was my main motivation in purchasing the DDP program. I can start out at the beginning out-of-shape level and work my way up to the more advanced levels without risking serious injury.

And, at the same time, hopefully drastically improving my flexibility.

Years ago when I was in relatively good shape/health, I purchased P90X only to realize that it was too high-impact for me... great fitness program for sure, but also the type of program that wasn't designed for someone who wasn't ready (or physically capable) to commit to that level of effort.

The best part is it's something I can do in my living room. So no excuses!

Thanks man. I did WW before we moved to London back in 2012, was about 2 months into the program when I just got so involved with packing everything up and getting ready for the move abroad that it became difficult to continue. Weigh-ins were each Thursday night... lost 25 pounds rather easily. You hear people say it all the time, but I never once felt like I was starving myself for that 2 month stretch.

I know it works... I also know that it goes beyond talking about it and actually putting the plan in action.

Lost 5 pounds as of weigh-in last Thursday, started back in the first week of December. Not necessarily knocking it dead, but given that I typically add about 10-15 pounds during the holiday months - I can't be too upset that not only did I not gain weight - I lost a few pounds too. A lot of that was due to having to travel and what have you, having Christmas dinner at my folks' down in KY, etc.

Enough talk, time for some action.

My wife has been doing p90x for years and has probably 4 or 5 of the new ones Tony has put out. Plus there's Body Beast and Insanity that she does. Quite a workout. What I tell people about p90x is to go at your own pace...pause it, do less reps...build gouself up to it. Most people can't do it right out if the box. I've done it a few times...it's not easy. I have some friends doing or have done the DDP yoga program and love it.

Best of luck but go at your own pace in the beginning.

Good luck, this time of year is when I start to eat a bit better as the exercise goes down significantly without walking the course....Avg about a 45 min walk per day vs. 2 hours during the season....Snack a bit better is all.

Now, what to do with the beer consumption, hmmmm..

Yeah, alcohol... not good. I love my mixed drinks. Drink at least one per evening. Big no-no now. Gotta learn the difference between once in a while and often.

Once I get down to my goal, maybe I can be at liberty to partake a little more often. It's not a huge deal, but I will miss chilling out in the evenings with a drink or a glass of wine.

Gotta give to get. Small price to pay to have your health!

Wife does Insanity every day. She did P90X and it really whipped her into even better shape, but she got tired of the same old thing day after day. She's a fitness nut, this type of stuff is right up her alley.

I can't go too fast... I'm not physically capable. It'll be a slow process starting out, doing a lot of modified exercises. But 30-45 minutes per day, eventually, should have me seeing some results, especially with the WW thing working simultaneously.

Gotta be realistic though. I'm not gonna undo a decade of neglect in a month, three months, or even a year. It'll take a while and a serious commitment.
