We have played Estrella three years in a row and I was trying to change it up. Still an excellent value, so will keep it in play as an option.
Whirlwind was in poor shape last time we played it, but that has been a while. Will see.
Southern Dunes a good option even though its just one course.
Reports are Whirlwind is not the best this time of year. September may be totally different.
I played Whirlwind a couple of weeks a go. Greens and tee boxes were fine, fairways had typical summer “hot” spots where the Bermuda didn’t fill in but the course was playable no problem. Typical of summer golf in Arizona heat.
We Ko Pa on Saturday - $130 for 18 holes, $240 for 36. Cholla in the morning, Saguaro in the afternoon.
Verrado is Thursday - Victory first, but they gave us a deal. Victory in the morning for $46+tax, Founders in the afternoon for a replay rate of $21+tax.
Still need to book Friday, and Wednesday for the early arrivers.
Ok folks, here is the plan thus far:
Wednesday September 7th: Whirlwind - order to be determined. ($150 for 36 holes, not sure of the morning-only rate yet)
Thursday September 8th: Verrado - Victory morning ($46+tax), then Founders ($21+tax replay).
Friday September 9th: TBD
Saturday September 10th: We Ko Pa - Cholla morning ($130 for 18), then Saguaro ($240 for 36).

What about Southern Dunes for Friday? That's a great course which we haven't played for several years.

I should be good to play at least the morning rounds each day Wed-Saturday. maybe even an afternoon round one of the days 
I am not sure that I can make it this year. We moved up to Vegas this summer, and with the kids activities I am not sure I can sneak down. Still working on it, and I might be a last minute add in, but out for now.
Looks like Papago is undergoing renos and all holes wont be open so we might need to look at Raven ( looks quite nice) or GCU ( have played before on arrival day) ....both close to the airport.
Working on confirming tee times at the Golf Club of Estrella for Friday. A deal that is hard to pass up! $40 for the first round, and $20 for the second. Just need to make sure the times work for us - stay tuned!
If anyone is doing any earlier in week rounds like monday or tuesday i can probably make them if you need another player.
Oh and jamez if you want to go to the range and shoot one day while your here let me know will see what i can do.
