This is one reason we probably won’t see a major network broadcasting LIV Golf. Who’s going to buy adds on that broadcast? No company would risk such a boycott.

As I posted before the DP World Tour signed a strategic alliance with the PGA Tour last year. Can’t see the DP Tour cutting the throat of the PGA Tour after signing such an agreement.

Sneakylong. Money talks, as we're seeing with the LIV tour. Would they do it? Not likely. Could they do it and cripple the PGA ? Absolutely

Sneakylong You would think with all the $$ being thrown at the players, they could find some major network to do the broadcast, for just compensation, just to get it on the air in the U.S.. After all, huge sums of money apparently has a very sweet taste.

I watched it on a local free underfunded TV station on Sunday, from Hamilton, Ontario. (CHCH)
If that is possible already (and it's early) then anything is possible.

If a major broadcaster did that (no commercials) then they themselves would risk some backlash. There was a broadcaster in Pittsburg who was in talks with LIV. Nothing came of it though.

Not sure a regional broadcast is what they’re looking for. Social Media is most likely where they’ll stay.

I hope the LIV golf league succeeds based solely on the fact that it seems to bother so many people lol

Oh and if the PGA tour wants to survive, they need a way for someone to view the coverage without having to subscribe to multiple streaming services. I have ESPN plus and it is a nightmare to navigate.

One thing that comes into consideration as well is playing in the Majors. Although the PGA Tour doesn’t control the Majors, world ranking points do.

So except for the exemptions each Major has for winning, you need world ranking points to get into a Major.

So if you’re a top player and choose LIV Golf then money is the sole reason. Because your legacy now is in jeopardy.
