Playing golf next to the corn fields. That is exactly what my golf scenery was my whole life until last year. Almost every course we played. Love it.

DonM Why is Bubba a commentator and not a player?
Don't know for sure, but he had surgery for a torn meniscus in his knee 3 months ago. Maybe he doesn't think it's ready to go yet, or maybe he deferred participation just to give it extra time. Kind of cool to see that LIV put him to work as an announcer since he's on the payroll anyway.
Is LIV intensifying their marketing now? Starting to see YouTube personality profiles (which might be expected since YouTube does the streaming) with positive stories. Yesterday, I also noticed for the first time that they listed the tournament scores on the ESPN app. Don't know what is happening on other social media since I'm not plugged in to anything else.
johnnydoom I subscribed to their channel a few weeks ago to make it easy to find the event stream. During the last event, my feed was plastered with little videos from them with their players doing this and that.
This particular columnist is NOT a fan of the Saudi's.
Raise your hand if you thought Chase Koepka would be six shots ahead of his brother right now.
Who won?
Not hard to understand why a player, even a very successful player, might make the jump. And that doesn't even consider the front money and additional team payout (I think Cam gets an extra $350K for his team's second place). While I'm sure Cam will cherish being the Champion Golfer of 2022 more than being the LIV Chicago champion of 2022, it appears that his presence was cherished more in Chicago. The event (The Open) is historically important, but at some point it gets to the equivalent of some champion team from the distant, or even not too distant past, trying to recruit players based upon tradition rather than what is actually of value to current players and not just the organization.
LIV Golf Chicago - $4.0 million
TPC 1st Place - $3.6 million
Open Champion - $2.5 million
johnnydoom DJ has banked over $12M in just 5 LIV events. iirc, even Pat Perez has banked over $2M for those same events.
Just putting food on the table.
Par4QC They should rename the team Sugar Daddy and the 3 Stooges! JK - I'm sure Dustin is quite happy with his choice of team members given 3 first place finishes in a row.
Those guys sold out to the highest bidder. I'd have probably done the same.
sdandrea1 Those guys sold out to the highest bidder
Technically not. They went to the only bidder.
And it really was never a bidding war. 1 side offered sure money, the other offered.......I forgot what they offered. If anything.
Just looked it up.....2 days of OOP expenses in order to play 2 days, guaranteed. For a loss of $$.
