sdandrea1 I can't figure out what any of these guys think they have to gain by badmouthing either side. They made a personal decision and their former peers should respect it. STFU about it. It's like a fucking high school soap opera.

Two things that come to mind. I think if the defectors had just left and not tried to have their cake and eat it too by breaking the rules playing for LIV and still wanting to play in PGA Tour tournaments.

Secondly, if LIV hadn't sued the PGA Tour that may have quieted the back and forth. Possibly, maybe or maybe not.

I have no problem with the players speaking their mind on this. It's a huge deal. With any disruption this big it's bound to create strong opinions on both sides just as we've seen here on this forum.

garyt1957 Did they actually do that? Oh my God the irony is dripping off that decision.

Well, they did have a legitimate reason for doing this. ๐Ÿ™„ How often does a head of state of a country for 70 years pass away. Cancelling Fridays golf was the right thing to do.

If we remember the NFL caught some flack for playing football the Sunday after JFK's assassination. Richard Bland a Brit cleaned out his locker on Thursday thinking the whole tournament would be cancelled.

Reducing tournaments to fewer holes because of weather happens all the time.

Sneakylong Reducing tournaments to fewer holes because of weather happens all the time.

So those tournaments shouldn't count in the records as they're not proper tournaments? No reason they couldn't have a Monday finish. It's really quite laughable .

To be fair, or at last accurate, not all broke rules. Many resigned their membership first. The ones who didnโ€™t, I believe, did not - for the express purpose of suing the PGA, as a monopoly, forcing their hand each season to sign away their media rights, which is what gives the PGA the control over where itโ€™s members can play.

Even the remaining PGA members are probably, secretly, hoping LIV wins that case.

Once again what else is new, we disagree. ๐Ÿ™„ Oh we did agree on the Bills. So there is hope. ๐Ÿ‘

Sorry you feel that way. ๐Ÿ˜ But then again you don't watch much golf, so no worries. lol Looks like a nice finish for tomorrow. Didn't see any LIV players near the top that I'm aware of anyway. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Can't wait to see how they keep Talor Gooch of the TV coverage in the a.m.. I hope he shoots another -8!! ๐Ÿ‘
And btw, he has the lowest round of the tourney, so far. Must have been practicing, for some reason. ๐Ÿ˜

Iโ€™m rooting for Rory. If he wins he pulls off the FedEx Cup and Race To Dubai double. Quite a feet. Taylor Gooch will fold. You heard it here first. Lol

Look for them to go to commercial break when Gooch hits a shot. Lol

Defectors should stay in their own lane. Obscurity. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Sneakylong The TV coverage is not typical of what we see on the PGA broadcasts from the U.S.. They have been jumping all over the place, showing a lot of different players, which is something LIV does, btw. But, it is good. So, unless Gooch actually gets to the lead, I don't expect to see him at all.

๐Ÿ˜„, maybe the TV crew has been told to do this jumping all over the place, so it cannot be questioned on Sunday, if needed. Imagine them showing Rory slamming his putter into his bag/tossing it into a lake, just as Talor's winning putt drops. And we don't see that putt.

                Par4QC

Yeah, it was decided to intentionally not show any LIV players in featured TV groups. But if Gooch is in contention then theyโ€™ll have no choice but show him.

You know what Iโ€™m hoping for. Lol

LIV players Gooch and Otaegui are -10, tied for 6th with 3 others, 1 behind Roy and 2 behind the leader.

There's a chance LIV might finish at the top

But Phil, you kinda started this whole shit show........ seriously?

LIV joined in, so really not his cause anymore, and he's likely done soon, imo.
Lots of rumours now about DickTater Monahan being replaced (maybe by Tiger), another Top 10 guy leaving due to not liking the new "Rory Tour" (my guess is Hovland) and no merger will happen, imo.
The LIV tour was always meant to be a stand alone tour, opposite of the PGA, in spite of the misinformation.
A merger makes no sense at all.

Spuzz A merger makes no sense at all.

In some ways, it does. The old guys would throw fits if tournaments go to only 3 days, 54 holes. Why is it 72 holes anyway? Players leaving are stating 'less golf/more family time'. 3 days gives them all of that. A bit less stress from travel planning also, having to rush to airports to catch flights same night as finishing one tourney to get to the next. Esp. the winners.
Plus, it would be even harder for Rory to 'come close to' winning. ๐Ÿ˜„
