raggmann54 DJ is probably getting lots of advice from his not "so dumb as a rock" father-in-law, Wayne Gretzky, about his future in golf and money making abilities.

Of course he is.
He made more in endorsements that salary (50-46 mil) and his net worth approx 250+ mil now. (google search)
Not bad.

Sneakylong As for the Strategic Alliance between the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour, McIlroy wants to see even more co-operation in the face of the LIV Golf threat.

Good luck with that.
This latest attempt to keep players from jumping ship is a "save their own ass first" solution foremost.
DP Tour, LIV tour be damned!

IMO, Rory should STFU and play golf.
I think more Buzzers have more awareness of what's going on than he does, sadly.

KCee I've no doubt the real reason Rory gets a few mil a year from the Tour is to be a spokesperson/shill rather than help with policy

He should add the PGA logo to his hat and shirts LOL

Agreed - Rory has blinders on. When Brooks chastised the media for concentrating their attention on the LIV vs. The US Open in their news conferences, many of us agreed Brooks was very evasive on his personal intentions. That's why I wasn't surprised one iota when he announced he was signing. Rory Mac may have received stronger assurances in private discussions from Brooks and that's what he's alluding to...

Shut up and play golf sounds similar to just shut up and dribble.😏 I like athletes that are out spoken on issues. Many prominent athletes of the past have spoke up on important issues. Rory is very well spoken and not afraid to give his opinion. Like to see more of it from others. The PGA Tour could do a lot worse than having Rory as their spokesperson.

I prefer athletes that I like, that make themselves look stupid and petty when they talk, to shut up and play their sport.
Athletes I dislike can keep yapping all they want, especially if it makes them look like idiots.
      Same with forum members.

I like Rory a lot, but knowing he's being well paid by the PGA Tour means I take his "love" for the Tour with a grain of salt. For a few mil a year I'd say good things about anyone here. If I were the Tour I'd want someone like him speaking in my behalf as well.

With $80M/yr. from Nike coming in, and we don't know how long those contracts run, + money from the PGA, TaylorMade, and others, he can and will say pretty much anything he wants. He can 'afford' to get by with it. LIV cannot even make him an offer, for 3 yrs., that he would jump on. I mean they could, but it would have to be Tiger numbers.(then we would see who is 'duplicitous' 😅)

You won't see it..... being outspoken..... from very many others because they do not have the financial backings to be mouthy, like Rory. I doubt even JT does, but he is a mouthy, spoiled, lil shit anyway.

A lot are content with what they have, where they've been in golf. Even lesser names/no names would be hard to get signed on. Not too many, imo, that have become 'journeymen' would move, like Perez did.

Spuzz I have a moral high bar that would need lowering for a couple here.

Me too, but my price is still pretty low, by LIV golf standards lol

          PA-PLAYA The money always wins.

          Always.

So you're betting on LIV? They have the most money by far. I can't see the money winning in this case as it stands. People like to see great competition in sports. Not getting that with LIV as of now.

The PGA Tour's filler tournaments with few recognizable names are much more exciting than what LIV is offering.

I'm waiting to see if any of the OEM's start to balk at 'their' players going to LIV. The one that comes to mind is Cobra. If Rickie goes to LIV then their top two players have no more exposure on the PGA Tour. Not a good investment.

While other companies have dropped their sponsorships, so far the OEM's haven't. Will that last is the question?

Par4QC I doubt even JT does, but he is a mouthy, spoiled, lil shit anyway.

Sorry you feel that way about Justin Thomas. 😂

So, I can get you tickets for next week's event, The John Deere Classic. Dirt cheap, if not free, along with an air conditioned corporate viewing area, complete with free food/drinks.

They now have 11 of the top 100 entered, with Berger the main attraction at #25. K. H. Lee at #43 is next in line. The list just goes on & on of the stars.
The only exciting thing that will happen next week is who will shoot a 60, or lower?

All kidding aside, there are a few fellas that have been coming on the past few weeks. Am expecting 1 of them to rise to the top. Davis Riley, Denny McCarthy, Webb Simpson, Brian Harman(previous winner here). Even Stricker(3 time winner here) would not be a surprise as good as he's been playing.

And, the place will be packed every day.
