You very well might be correct. Then again, there were a couple of impactful calls made against USC yesterday (that were correct calls nonetheless imo) that USC overcame and still prevailed.
I just hope the officials let 'em play. Gotta call the personal fouls, the obvious targeting of helmut-to-helmut plays, the unnecessary roughness penalties. But the ticky-tack calls, imo, need to be ignored and let these two teams play football.
The officiating really isn't any better at the college level, at least as it relates to consistency. Hopefully we don't have a situation where one call changes the entire dynamic of the outcome. But then too - obvious calls have to be made. These refs walk a tightrope, especially in these biggest games. Can't imagine the stress they have to deal with to get everything right.
But that's what we expect nonetheless.
