Watched three more videos about it. All thought it was good, most saw a very slight increase in distance (2-5 yards).

I'm still surprised by the sound....would think if more of a thud coming of carbon fiber but still has a metallic sound to it!

My Srixon has some red to it, however I can't see it when at address, or when I check the face. I like the black face, I can see where on the face I hit the ball without any stickers or foot spray...

pellmell I get that....clearly TW has influenced the color scheme....and IMO TMag is smart for going with it; design wise it it's the newest iteration of the SIM with the carbon face. The Nike Covert and TM Stealth bare little else in resemblance.

Par4QC Just my opinion, but sometimes I think MGS should just let their data do the talking instead of whoever runs their social media responses. 🤨

LogicalOne I agree. I like MGS, but I also have some issues with them. They bill themselves as the Consumer Reports for the golf industry, but they don't do the same things as CR. They don't purchase equipment to test, but rely on companies to provide so right off the bat there is no true independent unbiased testing. They also have allowed advertising although they claim it's limited to smaller companies.

I got a kick out of MGS going after the dude on Instagram (golf_ball_guts) cutting open golf balls. The IG guy was finding a fair amount of ProV's that didn't look concentric internally after being cut in half. MGS had found ProV's to be nearly perfect and claimed the IG guy wasn't cutting them properly and being scientific like they were. And yet he was literally using the same exact cutting tool as they were.

Thing is, as Rick says, we do not know what drivers MGS was comparing to. Rick shows us on video, his comparison club, which is last year's TM model. If he was getting relatively the same ball speed/distance, we can be assured the COR is fairly equal in both heads.
It may well be true that the MGS testers were getting higher speeds, but in order to do that, their drivers had to have 'inadequate' COR to begin with; IOW, not close to the .83, nor close to the new TM heads tested. And something like that can easily be 'set up'--hand picked--, in order to show a product superior to last year's model.

So, do we have outright lies, or outright dishonesty, from MGS?? Either way, it makes them asses. And we do already know....they ARE ass-kissers. I will trust the 1 person over the group. It's what I've found in different driver heads this past season myself.....no discernable diff in any, brand to brand, as far as distance, and that comes right back to...ballspeed, which is how they are sidestepping reports, instead of saying distance.

Par4QC I only started looking at MGS a few years ago. Since then they have added a lot of buying links and done some promos. I understand they are a business. But it does make me wonder about their info.

It's a bit amateurish on their part to fire back at RS the way they did, no need to get butt hurt over one review. It's not as if RS said MGS was FOS in his review, he reported the numbers he was getting. I wanna say TXG's initial review of Stealth was similar, although it was not conducted in typical TXG fashion....they were outside on a range!

It is always fun to read new reviews.

All this stuff is maxed, BUT they are not all created equal.

If you want to see if it is possible to get more out of a driver or any club, get fitted, a route I took last year.

Besides all that, when you go for a fitting (IMO) it is not so much a 'head' fitting as it is a 'shaft' fitting. Unless, of course, you go to a specific brand fitter.

Heads are maxed, yes, if hand picked. You'll find many that are way under the allowed max COR, and are junk. It is why you see so many "Tour" heads floating around the internet. They are actually rejects from the vans, due to not having the specs a potential Pro user is looking for. No, they are not "Tour issued", as they were never used for the tour. IMO, "Tour issued", is being used by some Pro.

Fittings for shafts should be what everyone is looking for, not the heads. They ARE all the same. I've proved it to myself, if no others, this past season. Just like Rick did, same shaft in all of them. Balls end up at same point, just getting there in a different manner(most times). If you have a head that you like, and is within the past 2-4 yrs., find the right shaft. Maybe it will improve the overall club.

D see right through them. Another forum like that is Hackers Paradise… they are the model for sucking up. Say anything not positive about a club on there and it’s ignored….it’s so obvious. BUT manufacturers give their members all kinds of prizes and trips for giving them glowing reviews on everything 🙄

The Hackers Paradise, oh my!!! Totally a bunch of homers all with tons of disposable income, if posts are true.
Until other manufacturers besides Callaway started hosting functions for them, Callaway was it, period. Other manufacturers were virtually knockoffs and got zero airtime. Now other OEM's have broken through only after they pony up and kiss the THP'er arse. Even then, you have to read thirty pages to find a sprinkling of semi-negative comments.
