Daly thinks in his prime he could've out driven BD....with a Balata ball.
He also claims (back in the day) he was longer than any of the LD guys.
Not quite the case, as he did try the WLD one time and got beat.
(Used a shorter club than most, but that was probably his choice.)

Interesting/looong podcast (NSFW) though, as John touches on a number of subjects.

Daily with any kind of discipline would have been a great..unfortunately now he lives with what should have been

I think it's possible that quite a few guys could be longer than BD, but they don't go with that strategy....that's the beauty of BD!

The modern game including equipment, course set up, tree removal and so on allow Bryson to swing the way he does. Would he play the way he does with a 250 cc driver, balata ball on a tree lined course? I doubt it. I don’t blame him, you play the game your put in. The modern fan wants to see long bombs, approach shots that back up 15 feet and putting on pool tables. I still enjoy watching old Wonderful World Of Golf shows with guys like Nicklaus hitting the drive of the day and then putting a 3 iron on the green close to the hole. Of course I would still like to see a muddy football game with a fullback that gains 15 yards up the middle but I guess my time has passed.
