colej I have one. They are not all cracked up to be what they say. I've tried a couple different media, but so far nothing really does what you might expect. Noisy AF also. I just got an email from HF and was thinking of trying something different in it this winter.

Do you have one of these vibrating ones? Or is it the tumbling type? When I went up to the golfworks school they had a huge vibrating one. It worked perfect. If I remember right it had some kind of rocks in it.

Par4QC was thinking of trying something different in it this winter.

Like I've said before, a bead blast cabinet and some 70/80 grit glass media will
clean up a whole set of iron heads in about 10.....make 'em look like new.

Look into large rock tumblers... Those are fairly well insulated for noise.uou just need something large enough to fit heads and media... My brother uses a small one to clean brass before he reloads it...

colej I have the one in that ad. Had it for several years. I think rocks may be the way to go. I've tried the walnut shells and resin, but should have gone with the ceramic, perhaps. I may get some as I do have a few heads to do.

darpar For 2 yrs. now, I've been going to build a blast cabinet. It's all I need; have everything else....hose/nozzle/etc.. Just have to rearrange the garage again to fit it all in, what with needing to buy a bigger compressor also. I actually did build 1 at work a few years ago. When I left, I stripped it and left only the cabinet, which was made from large toolbox similar to this..... (no wheels/handle)

Par4QC ceramic polishing stones or stainless steel pins... I know a few people who use the pins to polish metals... Works well for them. A few machine shops really like the ceramic stones...

Par4QC Rex, you could look for a compressor with a bad motor and daisy chain the tanks together. After a while get a new motor and run both...

Looks great to me. Satin heads can just be scotch brite sanded with a course pad. A true tumble finish can be achieved if you want that.

colej I probably erased the Hydropearl finish but who cares. The irons mark up so easily with that finish its terrible. If I had something like the i500 irons I would probably not sand the face but would do the backs and soles of the heads.

I put a Scotchbrite wheel on my bench grinder and get the same result in 1 minute per iron. The downside is I have to use a pad by hand to get in the cavity back.

Just have to figure out what to do with the Nike VPC irons. I have them cleaned up but don't want to hit the chrome with anything too abrasive because I don't want to do the hosels. Might tape off the face and just hit the face like I did the Pings and be done with them.

Right now, I have a ton of aluminum shavings/chips. I should save them/try them.

Walterjn You can buy scotchbrite dremel pads. Don't try the sanding wheel with the dremel though... it bounces and makes for an uneven sanding job.

Walterjn I have to get a bigger compressor to start with. The small one I have also has small motor/output.
Spring project, at best. Ya don't do this type shit this time of year, where I live. 😉

Typhoon Yeah, except I'm a cheapskate, and can probably build it with the shit in the garage....
So no trip to the hardware store for that...
