SMT Mike, You need to post some insight as to what may have happened, if you would/could. No one here wants to stop purchasing SMT products, they've been in our lives too long to give up, lol.

And, inform, if you can, on these 'injected' heads, not just SMT but all/any. Should there be that slight bulge?

    TIA

ValueGolf but it would likely lead to me be being lynched

🤣...I think those fellas are long gone from this site.

We do already know that hardly anyone here has the proper set ups for measuring. 😉

Anyone can make mistakes. I work for a company that mfrs precision measurement sensors and we recently sent a shipment with like 45 out of 60 parts built incorrectly. Our quality is great, but no one is perfect. The product was actually fine but a mounting thread wasn't deep enough. Now if many customers are complaining then you have issues.

colej I'd bet all companies have had a problem, here/there, with these thin faced iron heads. There has been/always will be, cracked driver faces, and they've changed the metals a few times over. Iron heads will also have problems. You figure the R & D teams would have everything set, but it may just be an impossibility to get 'perfect', and they are going with 'percentages'.

Why they all did not just use Flubber, is beyond me. It's been around for decades, and works quite well. It's true....I saw the movies about it. 😉

I went and was reading about the heads. Sounds like they are just hollow, not injected.

          Typhoon

@colej, I’m curious, did you buy them under the impression they were? I’ve always been confused/curious about these because the website really doesn’t ever indicate. 🤔

These hollow irons are thin sheet metal faces welded onto a chassis. I wonder if metal warping occurs at times

Some are, some aren't. I think it's a sound/feel thing, although didn't TMag recently say they injected there driver heads to slow down COR🤔 because they were too hot/over the limit!

I know the Wishon EQ1-NX are not goo filled!

ode didn't TMag recently say they injected there driver heads to slow down COR🤔 because they were too hot/over the limit!

What I remember is TM stating " driver heads built over COR and injected until they are just under COR"
Now, that may be just my recollection of the marketing aspect. 🤔

Eguller Whole different animal with a TM driver head vs a hollow SMT iron😁

Tinker I would think they would be able to do a hollow head mold instead of having to weld the face on. Maybe I’m thinking too far into the future🙄

I checked my Acer XS Pro irons 4-SW, all the faces are flat, unlike the Dynacraft Prophet Muscle Blades. I'll check my other Hireko irons tomorrow.

colej it’s the weight screw. Should be a tungsten screw so head weights can be adjusted or swing weights. A lot of people think is just plug to hold shit in or something. It’s a weight.

colej Much like the coronavirus being 'anything at all', & Biden winning the election.....it also is FAKE!! 😂🤣
It is not even a screw. The heads do look great and impressive overall, and that plug does add 'something' to all that.

As far as injected or not...................in the name of science, 1 has given it's life...........

Face is approx. 2.8mm thick(7/64"?), not really as thin as I would have thought.
I also cut off the hosel....very soft, so should be easily bendable.
Head is a fairly good grade of stainless steel, btw. Was not easy to cut through like some of the cheaper grades.
