Maltby DBM and TE irons

I am thinking about ordering one of them from golfworks as paks.
What are your thoughts on them? I searched online for reviews but wanted to see if anyone tried both of them. Love the look of DBM but wonder how they feel differently from TE.
Also I am wondering about the build quality of paks since I am seeing both good and bad reviews on assembly.

sukkeun I have had them build two sets of irons for friends of mine. When they came I measured everything. Both builds were excellent. Better than most OEMs, I think.

I have both. The TE will feel a little softer. Outside of that and the slight loft differences, they play the same. The design is very forgiving, especially when hit low on the face. Some feel they are high launching. I do my own assembly so I can't comment on the build quality of the packs.

They are soft, forgiving for a forged cb, they do launch high/overall trajectory high. Nice head, but I gave up on them as they have a sharp leading edge and are no bueno for my steep/ish swing!

@azgreg is a TE player. Maybe he'll chime in. I had a set of DBM in graphite and thought they were a bit harsh feeling for a forging. I had a set of the TE predecessor design ad they felt much softer. Good forgiving design.

I had the Golfworks assemble a pak for me one time, and they did what I thought was an excellent job. I've played the TE's (back when they were called M-05's), and they were a great, easy-to-hit club. I can't imagine the DBM's being that much different, esp. if you use graphite shafts. The DBM's are one degree stronger, not that it makes that much difference. Fitted with the right shaft, I think I would be comfortable playing either head.

I've been playing TEs for quite a while now and like them very much. Never played the DBMs but I hear they are just a bit harsher in feel.

The DBM'S are just a bit harder but they are a great club. I have been toying with getting another set, since I sold mine.

Pretty sure the DBMs lies cannot be adjusted more than 1 degree due to the material in head.

I had my DBM bent 2 degrees up.....or at least I paid for the service and they said they did it.

Thank you everyone. It sounds like they are great irons. I will keep my eye open for used set or order through golfworks paks to build one.

Looks like a decent deal for a Canuck if you think the shafts might work.... $25 per club instead of the Canuck pricing of $44/head.

The TE's do produce a pretty high ball flight.

Eguller Supposedly 2 degrees, now. I tried to adjust the lie angle on one of the Tricept? wedges, and it snapped like dry spaghetti.

It's my understanding that when they originally used the finish on wedges they couldn't be bent. They modified it for the DBM irons to allow at least minimal bending.
