Typhoon Because.....golf is as fun as you make it. It is not my job. No one pays me to play, or wear their shit clothing. Plus, I get bored easily, and this is just 1 aspect of life that I can change daily, if wanted.
Besides all that, as a former athlete, I love the challenge of shooting the best I can with all the different set ups I can make. Sold a bunch of drivers, still have 10 in the bags....and can hit every one the same distance, +/- a couple yards.
Plus, I do know my abilities, and stay within them every shot. 😉
I used to shoot low 80's after just a year of starting. Only played a couple years, then quit 'for life reasons', not even a driving range visit. One day, 23 yrs. later, I go into a thrift shop and find a complete set of Wilson 1200LT's, for $1 ea.. Got a bag also, went from there straight to the course. Shot 82. I'll never give it up again...... Playing or buying/selling. 😁
