darpar I despise Thanksgiving, can't stand the smell of turkey cooking. But I do agree, leave the Tupperware in the car....and use as needed/if offered.
rsvman2 darpar What? There is almost nothing that smells better than a turkey cooking, especially if it is seasoned properly.
Typhoon darpar I despise Thanksgiving, can't stand the smell of turkey cooking Same with ME!!! I'll have to tell the wife, she say's I'm the only person in the world what hates the smell.
Eguller Typhoon Same with ME!!! Me too. Thought I was the only one. [ brining one helps, but only a little]
Rickochet Typhoon Same with ME!!! I'll have to tell the wife, she say's I'm the only person in the world what hates the smell. You have been on poop patrol much too long. π

accufitgolf My wife hated Thanksgiving as she hated cooking so she never cooked one in her life. We use to take close family out for Thanksgiving Dinner. There would only be 6 of us and when we invited, we paid which was fine with my wife though I did miss leftovers. When we dwindled down to 4 (kids had left the nest), my SIL took over and invited her husband's parents. so back up to 6 but leftovers for my wife and I to take home. My wife still paid for the turkey and we brought wine and a Ricotta pie. Now my SIL's daughter does Thanksgiving. My wife has died as has my SIL's husband thus now 6 of us including two infants. A small but nice group. We always have a Toast to my wife and my SIL's husband. We joke that my wife died a few days before Thanksgiving as her way of being sure she never had to cook a Thanksgiving Dinner.
Typhoon azgreg What's your take on a turduckin? Itβs fuckin crap. Turduckin actually came up the other day when someone asked me what it was.
LBlack14 I like 'em both and Turkey cooking smells delightful. If I had to choose, oink oink. π π·
Dufferman I'm making a pre-thanksgiving smoked turkey. That bitch is staying at my house! Last year I think I smoked 4 turkeys, one for me, one for my mom, and two more after Thanksgiving for myself! Do yourself a favor and follow this fat mans turkey recipe!
Rickochet Dufferman I'm making a pre-thanksgiving smoked turkey. I cook turkeys on my Weber gas grill. I just coat it with oil, salt and pepper and put it on the grill. Cook on indirect heat for 13 mins. per pound at 350Β° and pull when breast temp hits 180Β°. This sucker is golden brown all over and is super tender. π
hobbit I started providing containers after I saw how much my cousin struggled to provide everyone leftovers. I just keep my lunch meat containers. I have too many to ever use on my own, so I reduce my supply by half once a year at my cousin's house at Thanksgiving. Its a win-win.
