Last night's Packers v 49ers OMG.

professor A concern I would have about the Vikings is more related to Kirk Cousins. Since entering the NFL in 2012, Kirk Cousins is 10-40 (. 200) against teams that finished the season with a winning record.

Everyone is definitely entitled to look at things in whatever manner makes sense to them for sure. For me, as I mentioned much further up n the thread, this is a team sport. There is no way I could ever make a statement that ‘KIRK is’, it’s always going to be ‘the TEAM is’. There are just way too many variables in play, throughout the entire organization, that factor into a W/L record. Surface data is always easy to scrape up to provide a high level, but it’s the deep dive into the data that tells that whole story.

Then I guess you mean "deep team data" because otherwise your opinion seems somewhat contradictory. Care to explain? Otherwise, I would suggest that QB play/results are the biggest and most integral variable.

LogicalOne imo the only reason Cousins gets a pass is due to some of the teams he has been on, although he does have the habit of giving up an INT at the wrong/inopportune time, as I tell my Vikings buddy, he likes to chuck em up for grabs from time to time. Some of those teams however have had much better defense....this team does not have that.....what they do have is the ability to be an offensive juggernaut. If they can be more steady defensively, maybe get some key TO,s, they will make a run, that is if Kirk doesn't get a case of the chuk em ups😉

professor To clarify for you, a deep dive into the data for the whole team/organization. There is never one person that wins or loses a football game, it’s done as a team.

You'll see most QBs with that stat. 'Wrong/inopportune time' comes at end of games they are behind in, or trying to keep possession for the lock. They all do it, off target/early/late throws.
I don't see Cousins' record as being an int thrower, overall. (Yeah, I had to look him up, not knowing much of his history)
Pro Bowl last season, signs a contract for 2023 for $36M(?), and team is 12-3 right now, with div. title in hand.
Good enough, it seems.😄😉

Par4QC always has been but then there are the pundits and such. IMO what it boils down to is that he needs to win a playoff game and make a run in the playoffs and then those people will stfu and accept him as one of the best, until then he'll always have his detractors! Big year for him this year and it will be interesting to see what he does this post season!

Imo Brady fits in the 49ers offense perfectly. He’d love what Christian McCaffery brings to the table. Deebo Samuel as well. And he has a Gronk in George Kittle at tight end.

Brady loves a back that can catch the ball. Had Jimmy White in New England. Also, loves a slot receiver like he had with Julian Edelman, Wes Welker and Troy Brown. Because Brady’s forte is getting rid of the ball quickly.

The Bucs don’t have a receiver who can separate. Both Evans and Godwin are possession receivers. Scotty Miller is a 4.3 speed guy, but can’t run routes. Only good on go routes. Antonio Brown could separate and run by people. That’s why Brady loved him.

The 49ers just lack a quarterback unless Brock Purdy proves to be it. Jimmy G. could get them there, but couldn’t get to the finish line. Brady knows how to get a good team across the finish line.

Not to mention the 49ers defense which is pretty, pretty, pretty good. Of any team out there the 49ers would be his first choice imo.

Sneakylong ....if Brady has anything left to give. I was thinking more about the amount they run and movement and needing a.QB who can also move. I would expect this would suffer with the addition of TB. IMO a risk going after him for any team, but changing ones.offense to fit in an old immobile QB just does not seem smart.

We’ll just agree to disagree. 🙂 These mobile quarterbacks are all the rage now. But in case you haven’t noticed they’ve been dropping like flies.

Give me a Tom Brady or Peyton Manning everyday of the week and twice on Sundays. Brady has been immobile his whole career. Done pretty well. Lol

Brady doesn’t get hurt that often. Was out one season because of a knee hit in the pocket. Jimmy G. is constantly getting hurt and Trey Lance is off to a similar start injury wise.

If you want to win now you could do a lot worse than Brady. Lol

Get this……. Tom Brady has won more playoff games as a Buc than any of the NFC QB’s in the playoffs as it stands today. Lol

#1 Phi, #2 Minn, #3 SF, #5 Dal, #6 NYG and #7 Was.
Bucs are #4 if they beat Carolina.

Let alone what he did in New England. Kinda says a lot.

Sneakylong in thinking about their unning plays, the QB rarely runs, it's just that the d will never have to key on him in those plays. Probably not a big deal!

With a good O-Line and a good running game, you don’t need the threat of a running QB.

But you do need the threat of a good running game. Right now the play action for the Bucs is a joke. Not fooling anyone. They can’t run the ball.

If center Ryan Jensen can come back (if they make the playoffs) that could all change. Yes, Jensen is that good.

That's strange. LinkedIn is the only network I'm on (been since around 2008) and the only way they ever ask me for money is to ask that I become a premium member, which I never do. I don't care whose looking at my profile. I figure if they see something they like they'll message me. I look up people all the time before interviews just to see if there's anything besides what's on their resume.

rsvman2 Nah. Definitely not my style at all. 😊 I’m just a fan, whether they win or lose. I’m also a data nerd, and after being diagnosed with mental and physical disabilities, my brain automatically has to go down a structured path when analyzing things or even doing day to day tasks, just to protect itself and me overall (I can’t really multitask anymore-I used to be able to manage around 18 mid-size projects at a time). So, having conversations that really are data analytics driven (like the ones we all have been having), I enjoy because my brain automatically wants to dive into it to define and understand the structure. Now, is that always healthy for me? No. Lol There have been times over the past few months that I’ve had anxiety attacks where I ultimately have passed out.

Anyway, if the Vikings win it all this year, I’ll just be a happy fan. If they don’t, I’ll still be happy because the organization has a lot of great people in place (more than ever before) and will be looking forward to what they do next. 👍🏼😊 Skol!

Number 1 at $303 million in 22 seasons. Longevity has its benefits. Lol
Plus, Brady sacrificed at least $60 million by taking hometown discounts when he was with the Patriots.

Also, according to Steve Young and others Brady hasn’t lost any arm strength. Can still make throws he’s always made. Pro Football Focus had him as the MVP last year.

Not like Peyton who had a neck injury and couldn’t throw at the end. Eventually Brady will fall off the cliff.
But pundits have been made fools of prematurely predicting his demise. Maybe it’s this year.

But………. Maybe not……..

There’s a method to his madness. Lol. Brady is adept at talking to the media without saying much. Basically what Belichick does (says nothing) only with a smile.

I don’t know if Brady will be a good TV analyst or not. But Brady knows football and from what everyone says he’s extremely likable along with being a national born leader. And is hugely competitive.

Likability is huge on TV. Will he be as good as Tony Romo? We shall see.
