Not a spin at all, it’s me saying there’s data for every player on a team that factors into the performance of many other players on that team. There unfortunately isn’t data, that I know of, that measures performance of someone on the coaching staff. All factor in to the overall performance of a team. Offensive line, receivers, backs, ends, coaches, etc…..the list can go on and on.
Big games/playoffs have an even bigger impact on players mentally, which impacts overall performance. Look at Super Bowl LV when Mahomes was not good…the offense overall simply was not good. They didn’t even score a touchdown. Biggest moment in professional football and that 11-2 offense stunk (2 interceptions, allowed 3 sacks) and the team overall was penalized 11 times.
This really is no different than many other professions that are team based. I can attest to that having been a project manager for almost 20 years. It’s a much deeper dive into the data that tells the whole story versus looking at one individual’s performance.
