Greatest winning professional coach of all time, and mentor to the greatest winning professional quarterback of all time and greatest winning college coach of all time. I don't even like the Patriots and always rooted against them in the Super Bowls, but passing on their coach makes the committee worthless IMO.

The committee does seem open to lobbying, case in point, Sterling Sharpe. Whilst I love him and believe he is deserving, not all who deserve, get in. Behind Jerry Rice id out Sterling as the next best WR of that generation! Shannon Sharpe, and others, seemed to campaign for his brother to get in. I found this off putting, and if I were a voter would view this as a detractor. Let the merits speak for themselves and let the voters do their job. Sterling gets in and that is all well and good, but it makes me wonder!

Far too much! For my own sanity, with the Eagles season over, sports talk radio is horrible. It's just non-stop criticizing. Given that's what I do for a living, they're really bad about it - very boring and never connect the dots.

I'll probably root for New England this year. Not for the team so much as for the coach. Vrabel did a great job with the Titans given what he had to work with, and I would like to see his team win it all. Seattle is a really good-looking team though.

They’re talking this morning how with the new HOF rules only one NFL coach can get in per year. What that means is the Belichick snub sets back other potential HOF coaches getting in.

Also, Adam Schefter said when he was younger and a HOF voter he was given sage advice. When voting for someone the main determinant was could you write the history of the NFL without this persons name.

Ironically no coach knows as much history of the NFL and HOF as Bill Belichick.

Drake Maye hurt his throwing shoulder in the Denver game. In the replay you can see him wince and grab it after getting tackled. He did throw a dime to Mack Hollins after the injury though.

Speculation is it’s a ligament sprain. No way he’s missing this game. They can shoot it up with a painkiller if necessary.

Update: Patriots say Maye would not have been a full participant in practice because of the injury. They didn’t practice on Wednesday anyway.

There is really no good argument as to who they should have voted for. Everyone just wants to have their 'internet' moment.

When you have players of this caliber waiting 25 years, who the hell would you vote for? A friggin' coach? They....did not win a single game, nor got a single bruise!!

And Brady is one of the biggest assholes for speaking out(basically) against players choices!!

Each year, the seniors committee chooses three finalists, while the coaches committee and contributors committee have one finalist. These five finalists are grouped together and compete with each other for votes from the 50-person selection committee. They are not competing for votes against the modern-era candidates.

The Blue-Ribbon finalists follow a similar voting method to the modern-era candidates. Each of the 50 committee members casts three votes among the five finalists. This year, those five finalists are seniors Ken Anderson, Roger Craig and L.C. Greenwood, contributor Robert Kraft and Belichick, the coach. A minimum of one and a maximum of three will be inducted: the top vote-getter and up to two more if they reach the 80 percent threshold.

Ramble coming: That is very true. The players play and win the game. They are the ones in the arena and deserve the credit. But as great as some players are, none of them has 8 Super Bowl Rings. Unfortunately, it is not possible to play for 30 or 40 years in the NFL. A coach can't win without great players, but it's pretty clear that great players also can't win without other great players and perhaps a coach that fits them together and gets them to support each other. If LC gets in, he'll be the 5th guy on that same defense to do so. Not many fans want the best player on their team fired because they finished with a losing record two years in a row. Yet they finished with a losing record two years in a row despite having one of the best players. How in the world is Roger Craig not in already?

KA and LCG were before my time. Roger Craig I remember fairly well. I don't know how the voters differentiate between players contributors and coaches.......but based on that list BB hands down. I find the process odd to put a coach, contributor, and senior players on the same ballot, but I guess they have to choose it some way.

Not interested in going down rabbit holes, but Jimmy Johnson was on yesterday and said some coach from Kansas City (forget the name) started doing it first (filming front the front).

A lot of them tried it including Jimmy, but got nothing out of it. Seeing the signal and adjusting in real time was almost impossible to do.

Kraft asked Belichick if he ever got anything out of it and he said no. Which Kraft then proceeded to call Belichick a dumbass or something similar. And Deflategate was equally ridiculous. Belichick throw Brady under the bus on that one. “Go ask Brady.” lol

Yes Brady 'preferred' an under-inflated ball like Rodgers 'preferred' an over-inflated ball. The NFL has itself to blame when they allowed Brady, Peyton and others to work the balls over (i.e. scuffing, soaking) etc.. before games.

So to summarize. Both Spygate and Deflategate were bullshit. And as a reminder once the supposed deflated ball was taken away Brady promptly went on to kick the Colts ass in the second half and the rest of his career. Again, much a do about nothing.

Oh, and Minnesota got caught warming up footballs on the sideline. Just got scolded. Brady got a few games suspension.

Just a bunch of bullshit for losing teams to bitch about why they lost.

And the NFL Hall of Fame unlike MLB Hall of Fame does not have a morals clause. So Robert Kraft with the most (6) Super Bowls should be a no brainer.
