Yeah, but Old Man River didn't make San Fran's defense look that stout either. Will be interesting to see how things shake out in the NFC West. I'm thinking Seattle will take the top seed. But maybe Chicago? Don't think we'll know until the end.

Possibly but I think not. Neither is a defensive juggernaut. Despite the league wanting offense... defense still wins championships. Stafford's in danger against a team that's got a pass rush. Yet, Puka Nacua is tough to stop.

Which league? NBA, NCAA... There's always the human element. For that matter, years ago I did not umpiring little league games. (But that's because parents are atrocious - sort of like fans.)

Heard yesterday (so take it for what it’s worth) that this fan has harassed him before. Still, I think two games is enough. It he does lose his $45 million in incentives that’s pretty excessive. More of a shove with his hand than a punch

I remember years ago (1979 Bruins vs. Rangers) Terry O’Reilly, Mike Milbury and some other Boston Bruins went up in the stands and Milbury hit a guy with his own shoe. lol

I believe along with the suspensions they were fined a whopping $500 dollars. lol

Below is a short video of the infamous ‘show incident’. lol. It’s towards the end of the video where Milbury takes the guys show off and hits him in the leg with it.

Btw. We were in a mom and pop video store in Bradford MA years ago and Terry O’Reilly was in there with his young son. Good guy.

professor LOL Don't hold your breath on that. I think the 49'ers are right where they are, 3rd in the NFC West. The question remains whether there will be 3 teams from the West in the playoffs? I think that's most likely.

Yup, sure can. Just another of the many reasons why I'm 'anti-stat'. Many teams make adjustments in their defensive strategies. Using that "bend but don't break - don't give up long TD's" until the opponent gets into the red zone and then let the size of the field be your ally - and many teams become more defensively aggressive at this point too.

professor There have been many games, where I could not watch those particular ones, that I would follow the box score....'stats'. Have seen teams with 100's of yards of offense, QBs/RBs with exceptional numbers, and they scored 2 FGs!! It shouldn't make sense.
But yet it does.😉

OTOH, look at Purdy the other night, early in the game. (iirc)Threw 9 passes, completed 7, for 89 yds....... 3 TDs.

Tell me something, how many yards do you subtract for a turnover - turnover in your own territory, turnover when the offense is in their red zone, a pick six or fumble returned for a TD?
Yeah... It's all about the yards - for fantasy football and FanDuel. LOL
