Forward progress was stopped. Shouldn't matter if it's the last play of the game. Bad call IMO.

The infraction happened before he caught the ball. Had he scored, instead of being pushed back, it would still have been nullified.
Only way the game continues, with no time on clock, is if there would have also been an offsetting defensive penalty call.

It is getting old watching the zebras not make a call, huddle for excessive periods of time and get it wrong)partially wrong. If they are gonna let it play out like that someone is gonna get injured. If Keanu Benton were paying attention he would have cleaned Goff's clock. Multiple whistles should have been blowing to stop the pla/game. OPI is called and game is over two ways🙃

ode I saw those flags fly fairly early in the play and I wonder if the refs in question then didn't pay too much attention to the rest of the play, knowing it was going to be negated anyways. I find it hard to believe that under normal circumstances they wouldn't have blown the whistle due to forward progress being stopped - two Steelers drove him 5 yards backwards!

Or maybe it was too loud to hear?

Saw some wild games yesterday. End of Steelers Lions game and then watching my Patriots come back and win late last night. Maye begins his own chapter of leading his team to victory in the 4th quarter.

Maye looked good passing for over 300 yards (380) for the first time. Nice play by K'Lavon Chaisson punching the ball out from Flowers to help insure the win.. Also impressed by Stephan Diggs play and especially his leadership. Primadonna days are over.

Sneakylong And possibly one of the worst missed PI calls ever on the bomb Maye threw. Nice to see the Pats finally decide to play the second half. Their road to the Super Bowl though does seem a little like “the Yellow Brick Road” with this time having Lamar leave the game.

Typhoon yes that was bad. They call so much ticky tack stuff... And let that go🤔....but he came right back and made some nice.throws to lead em down the field!

He was mugged/tackled before the ball got there. WTF?

Overall, the zebras looked bad in several games yesterday. Too much inconsistentcy.

22 players on the field. 7 officials(+ eyes in the sky). 2 eyes each to watch (avg.) only 3 players.
Should be relatively easy to see everything, esp. when players are bunched together and several eyes are on them.
Or so we think, right??😉

I honestly don't know that that's the actual case. How many games have there been where they got the call wrong, left it wrong, and it totally affected the outcome of the game? I don't think so many. With the tech and the home office reviews I believe they get it right more now than years ago.

The last play? Yes. Guys get away with it but it's PI. The questionable one was the pick play where the GB player pushed Teslaa into the other defender. Either way the Lions just aren't good enough this year with all the injuries.

It seems to be less and less defined every year. I don't see how some of these guys make catches with a defender clawing, grabbing jerseys, wrapping their arm around the receiver, etc. Amazing athletes.

I only ask because I see it all the time with no flag. I'll never understand pass interference in today's game. It seems undefined, especially in the Patriot's end zone last night.🙄

As long as each particular "team" of officials call a particular game equally, for both sides - whether ticky-tack or allowing the hand-fighting and such - consistently through the game, that's the best I'd hope for. It's really not that much different from basketball. And not a job I'd like.

That's the problem, it's up to the whim of the referee. One guy calls it one way and the other guy calls it another. Sometimes the same guy calls it two different ways on separate plays. What are you going to do?

Yup, it was always PI when a defender hit the receiver before the ball arrived too. No it seems it's no longer so.

Wonder what the thoughts of Steeler fans are this a.m., concerning their bad coach, with his 19th consecutive non-losing season?
Also wonder what they would have been thinking through the years if their team's name had always been......The Bears😲.
