Par4QC professor We could see a few, maybe just a couple, last game/last play deciders. The announcers are going to be obnoxious during these next few weeks. And we'll be seeing 'experts' with their pointers & boards.....like athletic 'meteorologists' forecasting outcomes. Break out the peanuts/popcorn....it's circus time!
sdandrea1 Par4QC The announcers are going to be MORE obnoxious during these next few weeks. Fixed it........ "If this, then that, unless this happens, then that, until that happens, then........ Washington has a .0000564 chance!"
Par4QC sdandrea1 I only use captions. But have been tempted lately to shut them off also. The stupid shit some of those fellas say.....'red zone possessions can be critical'......gudgawd.
professor Par4QC The stupid shit some of those fellas say.....'red zone possessions can be critical'......gudgawd. I listened to Troy Aikman this past Monday. Early on he complimented AJ Brown for his blocking. This after a lame, half-hearted attempt of a block. Three times over AJ had responsibilities to be a complete player and three times his lousy efforts resulted in him not "springing" a teammate to a bigger game but, in all three cases, the guy he allegedly blocked made the tackle. Same Aikman drivel - he spoke to the Eagles offensive line not playing anywhere close to the level attained last year. On the very next series he contradicted himself and stated that the same offensive line 'still remains as one of the best in the league'. Stfu! (Not that I can't stand Aikman because he was a Cowboy. LOL)
Par4QC professor Have you caught Rinaldi and his partner? I'm not sure they could spell 'football' if you gave them the 1st 6 letters. In order.
Sneakylong Try the Manningcast. They don’t take themselves seriously, but at the same time give info / analysis that’s entertaining. Only complaint they’re not on every week (Monday night).
rsvman2 sdandrea1 Or watch the feed that allows crowd noise and stadium announcements but has no commentators.
mulegolf ode Part of the problem in that was that the Vikings couldn't afford to pay Darnold and draft McCarthy. I don't remember exactly what the problem with that was but there was some monetary thing that effected it as well.
Par4QC mulegolf They had a really fine QB and gave him away for 'something future'. They already had the future and just got tight-assed cheap/pissed off when someone wanted their worth. Not much more to see, reading the story. I mean, look at the 2 QBs today. It's done all around the league, almost every season/off season/draft. JJ was never going to be good, nor 'the future', btw. jmo, as it was at draft time.
johnnydoom I was curious about why no one (Colts specifically) was dealing with Detroit to get QB Hendon Hooker. I looked him up and it looks like Detroit waived him at the beginning of the season and Carolina picked him up and then dropped him quickly. I had thought him to be a very talented prospect and now wonder if he never recovered from his college injury or if his personal situation is just very messy.
bigshank johnnydoom I’m thinking he’s another Richardson. So many gifted athletes don’t have the required decision making skills to play the position in the nfl. They also tried Jacob Eason so I think their brass has little patience with projects anymore
professor I enjoy watching games like this. It reminds me that “these guys are good”, pros, both sides of the ball! No horse in the race, just fun.
professor Freaking analytics! Atlanta is down 14 in the 3rd quarter. Score a touchdown and go for 2 because of analytics. That’s stupid. They score again and now have to go for two - no good. They could have easily been tied!
ode professor it is dumb, IMO makes more sense to go for 1 and if you want the win go for 2 on the second td. I suspect there was some poor clock management by TB down the stretch!
Par4QC professor down 14 in the 3rd quarter. Score a touchdown and go for 2 because of analytics. I don't see analytics coming into play on this. 1 XP would be tying the score, not being behind by 1 or ahead by 2. Nothing, to me, says go for 2.🤔 If your kicker is having an off night/game, then I could see it.
professor Par4QC I don't see analytics coming into play on this. Well, that is what they did. And shot themselves in the foot in the process. They were fortunate to get the opportunity for the field goal. ode I suspect there was some poor clock management by TB down the stretch! You got that right!
ode Par4QC agreed I don't think analytics would say go for two, but IF the goal is to do so maybe analytics would say go for two on the first TD? Maybe also would say after converting and down 6, that a FG on a stalled drive or 4th and long would still work with a chance at another possession for another FG and a tie or TD to win......and I suspect this is nothing more than a team with nothing to lose saying F it and analytics had nada to do with it. Glad Im not management cuz the coaches would all need bodyguards!
