Sneakylong I would think that they’d now take either Shedure Sanders or Cam Ward. The cap hit is enormous letting Watson go.

I suspect that the Browns will go through the 2025 season with Watson on injured reserve, then release him as a post-June 1 cut at the start of the 2026 season - going by Over the Cap, that would mean $73m of dead money in 2026, and $27m in 2027 (as well as the $73m that he counts against the cap in 2025). That's a lot of money, but the cap will probably be around $300m by 2026, and a team can get by without a quarter of their salary cap, particularly if they know in advance that they're going to be taking that hit.

Something else to consider - the Browns had taken out insurance against Watson being injured, and may get some salary cap relief if he does miss most or all of the 2025 season.

Agreed. However Baker is having a great season. He’s only the third QB to pass for over 4000 (4500) yards, 40 (41) touchdowns and a 70% completion.

The other two are Drew Breeze and Joe Burrow. Baker does play in a weak division, but he’s a big part of their success regardless.

Stats, stats, stats. How many wins in this fantabulous year? Two of the top 5 in passing yardage, in "The Passing League" didn't even make the playoffs. LOL I guess we'll see since sdandrea1 says Washington can't play D for shit. So, Baker's going to tear them apart. I'll watch.

Recent form, they beat up on some very weak teams.

WA has an overall better defense than the Bucs (13th in all of NFL), which might surprise Steve. Their best is against the pass, better than the Bucs.
Bucs will have to run, WA will have to pass.
Can't wait to see the game plans, esp. from the Bucs.

Never said that. Baker’s found a home in Tampa though. They’re in the tournament as Bill Parcels calls it. Anything can happen. He’s 2-2 in the playoffs. Lamar is 2-4. Another stat to chew on. Lol

Winning playoff games is tough. Who knew? Lol

Yes they did beat a couple of good teams (Lions and Eagles). And they have a nice running back in Bucky Irving. Secondary is a little banged up though.

That shocks me. That defense turns to swiss cheese late in the 4th quarter.

P S. WA defense is 13th overall, 3rd in passing.

Wrong! Only scoring defense can be construed as indicative of team defense.
Tampa Bay is 16th and Washington is 18th.
