"Fanatics" aka fans - of either teams or NFL football, in general, are odd ducks (yes, on any given day could include myself - especially when the 3/4 full beer can goes through the TV screen - what a waste of good beer).
This game wasn't so strange. I watched the whole thing. The score was so low because both defenses were Ball'n Out! Well that, and Brock Purdy is overrated when he doesn't have a complement of all-Pro's around him.
Possession after possession...team defense, gang-tackling, flow to the ball, pressure on both QB's!
Watching Deebo Samuel drop a a easy, wide-open slant over the middle - easily a 30 play if not a TD - dropped!
San Francisco might have had 5-6 opportunities for INT's slip through their hands. Deommodore Lenoir, cornerback for San Fran, contrary to the box score that gave him 2 passes "defensed" is not accurate! The guy was covering Ram receivers like glue. ***Also, the officiating was "strange", the physical contact between receivers and D-backs was consistent but man, lots of contact - both ways.
Purdy sucked at the worst time! And, Darrius Williams didn't drop his opportunity. Hell, Purdy put the ball right on him, as if he was a wide receiver for the Niner's.
And both coaches went against the 2024 coaching grain (if such a thing exists) and never chose to attempt a 4th down attempt - right to the soccer players from Brazil.
Overall, as an Eagle fan trying not to puke about the needless drama in Philly, provoked by AJ Brown, this game should have been mandatory viewing and punishment for him! Other than Rams' Nacua, QB's didn't target their wide-receivers - at all!
Very strange game and one that again betrays stats being so important.
And this game absolutely confirmed it for me. Jalen Hurts totally sucks! (just kidding).
