Part, but far from all, of the problem is that NFL combine invites go out to players prior to the bowl games (not including underclass men who have until later in January to declare status). Maybe if they felt they still had more to prove?

I was truly surprised with the game Seattle put on the field. Saw them a couple times prior and their offense was not effective but Gino Smith looked damn good last night. Seattle could have pulled off the upset with just one catch of an interception opportunity - they had their shots. Otherwise, I now have to add them to another upcoming challenge for the Eagles - after they face a 10-day rested Niner's team, followed by another 10-day rested Cowboys team. Who made this schedule?!

My thoughts on the Patriots (as a New Englander subjected to having all their games televised):
#1. Boy do they suck. Not a revelation, but still needs saying.
#2. Has Bill lost his fastball? I’m really not as convinced of it as most on sports talk radio tell me. They’ve spent 21 million less on their roster than the second lowest AFC team (Tennessee), and I’m a big believer in players/talent over coaches. All other factors being equal, then “yes” coaches absolutely matter, but you can only game-plan and coach-up so much.
#3. Judge and Patricia got lambasted last season … yet their offense produced, on average, eight more points per game- and six of the Pats losses this year have been by less than eight points, lol.
#4. Pretty sure Mac’s confidence/mental toughness is damaged beyond recovery … and even if it were - his combination of throwing into traffic and lack of arm strength was going to get his receivers killed, even if the passes aren’t intercepted.
#5. Looking forward to another Sunday afternoon nap.

But isn't Patricia a defensive coach? I have no clue what he adds or contributes to the Eagles.

I would hope as a defensive coach - he would have a rather thorough knowledge of offenses and how they might try to exploit a defense (and what those exploitable facets might be).

Yes he was and it was an arrogant / dumbass decision. And it hurt any chance of Mac Jones’s development. Belichick is a great defensive coach. He’s always spent money on the defense though. Brady made household names out of nobody’s. The jury is in and we know it was Brady and not Belichick.

Belichick including his years with Cleveland has a losing record without Brady. Kraft has to be thinking he could’ve won another Super Bowl with Brady.

Also, Belichick sucks as a GM. Even he admits it’s a players league. The talk is Belichick is gone after this season and assistant defensive coach Jarod Mayo will be named head coach.

We’ll see if that transpires. I’d rather see an offensive minded coach myself. l’m hoping the Patriots lose the rest of their games and draft a quarterback. I don’t see the Bears taking a quarterback at number 1 (from Carolina).

Yeah, but the Bears have always been defensive minded. This draft is supposed to be a good draft for quarterbacks. Love to see Caleb Williams in a Patriots uniform, but hopefully they can get a good prospect regardless.

propman If they built a team around his style of play he might be. He’s probably along the lines of Lamar Jackson talent level, and Lamar’s teams have been fairly successful.
