garyt1957 I dunno. All they needed to win was a field goal. They were in no hurry to score the TD right at that moment, and it was clear that it was the Eagles defensive plan to just lee them score on the first play after the interception.
There were only three ways for the Jets to lose the game after the interception: 1) turn the ball over, 2) miss a true chip-shot field goal, and 3) score too soon and allow enough time for the Eagles to mount a game-winning drive.
IMO, they should have tried to kill clock for at least two plays. As long as they didn't turn the ball over, they were going to win the game with a field goal or a TD.
