Hence the true issue. An infraction that goes uncalled the overwhelming majority of the time and then it gets called during a critical point in the game.
This is the main issue and gives the illusion that the refs are picking/choosing what to call, when to call it and on whom to call it on.
Very very similar play on a 3rd and 2 during last seasons SB with Bengals / Rams. The Bengals stop the Rams on the 3rd and 2 with about 2 minutes left in the game with Bengals in the lead. Instead of the Rams having a 4th and 2, they get a fresh set of downs and score the game winner.
