Spuzz the dumbest play in football. Best thing teams can do to stop it is play better defense to not let it happen. Forget other teams "protests" and the stupid dance the league is putting on for and against it, but rest assured the league does not want this play and they will eventually get the sack to ban it....and do the fans really want to see this stupid sh1t unfold on short yardage? A bad rugby scrum! It's the anti modern day NFL. Geeza move!

sdandrea1 Innovative? Lol it's an offshoot of a QB sneak with players pushing from behind. The only reason it hasn't been banned yet is because teams have to yet put massive behemoths in the backfield to do the pushing. There could be "offshoots" of this play/design that would get ugly. I take no issue with offensive players pushing the ball carrier forward...."the pile" but they are all standing up and it is not by design and right after/direct snap to the ball carrier....i.e. happens well after the ball has been snapped. It is an ugly play! Kudos to the teams that don't to it and I hope Green Bay stops their "version" of it!

The issue with the execution is it takes one kind/style of QB that is it! Teams could certainly get a back up QB to do it...OR as Green Bay does it, bring the Tight End around and have him take the snap. The league hates this play but don't have the balls to ban in yet, because the Eagles just won the Super Bowl. If it keeps up, the league will ban it sooner than later. I seem to be in the minority on buzz🙃, but I hate the play and can't stand to watch it. Green Bay was fairly successful at it. I like the Eagles, I really like Jalen Hurts, but I hate this play. Same with Josh Allen✅

It is not a necessary play, nor should it have become one. Would not be necessary unless there is a big weakness.

Hard to see a weakness in the Super Bowl champs, but ask Eagles fans about Siriani🙃

I am speaking selfishly as a fan. I simply don't want to see it play out to a point where defenses have to drastically change personnel and scheme to stop the play.

I'm kinda surprised it hasn't already happened but I'm waiting for a tush push where the QB gets his leg caught somehow and his own team just snaps it.

😄This is what I was alluding to when I say for the other team to jump out of the way on the play. Let his fellas crush him, break him.
No resistance would mean a greater force from behind.

garyt1957 the injury angle doesn't seem to sway I suspect the nfl has stats on it that would indicate it's not dangerous. If it were it would be gone!

If the offense can push then the defense should be able to push and jump up to make a stop as well. If the tush push is to remain then it behooves all the teams dealing with it to contact a stellar rugby team coach on ways to combat it.
On the issue of the NFL players playing flag football in the Olympics. I don’t think they should and if I was a head coach I would not want my players doing it. First of all, it’s a different game. There are professionals that play it and could be better at it already. Secondly, the quick cuttting and movement could open them up to non-contact injuries, thus affecting their real jobs. Lastly, the players focus should be on making themselves play better at football and winning a Lombardi trophy. Anything else is self serving and just for dollar signs. Just like the greedy NFL.

I saw a bit of the flag football from the Pro Bowl one year. Some guy tried to make a diving catch and landed right on his shoulder of course with no pads. I immediately thought "This is dumb". And didn't some guy blow out an achilles or something?

I've been more then complimentary of the Eagles and considered them the best team this past season. Tush push or not, they were fun to watch. I’m surprised teams haven’t figured out how to stop the tush push but I get it. If you completely sell out up the middle you could easily give up a touch down. Maybe the eagles just have superior talent and power to pull it off. I’ve watched a few other teams try it but not the same. It’s definitely a positive for them. For me I really don’t care that much either way. My team is the Seahawks so more than likely we’d be down by 10 or more most of the game. The tush thing would be the least of our worries.
