It is neither new, original, or unusual/unfamiliar....as defined by Webster & others.

It is just something not necessary, nor needed for any good reason/purpose.
Thus, it makes no sense to me as to why it 'is there/being done'.
Except as Steve denoted above. $$ for the already rich classes.....people + organizations.

Simply meant "novel" in terms of the beginning of a new season. But if you want to sharpen your fangs as a contrarian even though that's me, all the time - go for it. LOL

Actually, it's got a great reason and purpose - just not for it's entertainment value. For coaches making roster decisions and the limited full hitting in camp, exhibition games are quite important.

I only have sports talk radio to keep track and I've been busy with family, so I don't know much. I get tuned in once the season starts. None of the projections matter anyway - the truth is on the turf.
