Typhoon I agree. For Football I think it should be a 10 minute OT. If still tied or tied again do another 10 minutes. They could do it like baseball too and let the home team get the ball second... and keep doing it treating possessions like " innings".
This was mentioned this morning on one of the shows. The issue is from the players perspective the longer you go the more chance for injuries. The 10 minute OT seems to be fine, it's what to do after if it's still tied.
And as was mentioned, in 2019 after Brady won the toss and beat Mahomes without Mahomes ever touching the ball, Kansas City tried bringing it up with the competition committee and they couldn't even get a vote on it.
Like someone said this morning. It shouldn't come down to a parlor trick (coin toss) to decide a game. Keep the regular season as is where a tie is fine, but do something in the playoffs where each team gets a possession.
