I still have the Taylormade Burner ( second generation from the original TaylorMade Pittsburgh Persimmon steel head ) and several other similar sized drivers. Not worth much in value today, can't even give it away, so I'm keeping them for my kids.
I do have one driver which I might take out this coming Summer, a Ben Hogan 1953 commemorative model. What's rare about this one is, it has the original finishing and an Apex 5 shaft in it. Thinking about whether to play this driver in the Summer or not. I hit the Cleveland Byron Nelson model two Summers ago before the injury and played it well, that one has the TTDG S400 shaft.
I agree these oldies not only brought back memory but also do not play as bad as I thought them would comparing to the newest on the market.
I took out the Apex Grind with Apex5 shaft out to the driving range first time after the surgery and hit the range balls surprisingly well. Lost maybe 5-7 yards each club yet like throwing darts at the yardage markers. Only tried up to 4 iron. Will attempt the 2 and the 3 later on when it's warmer.
