I have another observation for the putting issue mainly for the seniors.
It's not the "nerves are gone".... theory for decades. Of course the abuse of human body from consuming too much of alcoholic beverages seemed to be rooted with the game and can possibility have something to do with losing the touch for putting . Could be because temporarily the alcohol takes away some of the aches and pains associated with golfing.
However, change of one's eye sight could be the number one issue with losing deteriorated putting. One of my kid is studying to be an optometrist and she mentioned to me that the pressure of the eye ball changes with aging together with other potential issues from staying under the sun more than the average person would, the golfers will suffer some sort of eye ailments. When the eye hand coordination is fading, so will the putting strokes.
So unless one is collecting putters, have one's eyes checked out before buying the $400 putter.
